Hi guys,

Just a quick kudos to Jeff at MoT - he makes buying a car the way it should be.

After unsuccessfully dealing with my local dealership (a Deedub rating of 4/10), I did some additional research, found this message board and decided to call Jeff. My experience with Jeff is as follows:
- I call him up, leave a message, detailing what I want.
- within 10 min he returns my call, has the exact make and model I requested and asks if black works.
- it took maybe 15 minutes to go over the details, do the credit app etc.. all over the phone.
- we set up a time to pick the vehicle up (less than 48 hrs)
- once at the dealership, we go over the paper work and Jeff gives a detailed run down on the vehicle etc. Took about an hour.
- and yes, he did give me a better deal then what my local dealership offered.

Throughout the process, it was clear Jeff 'gets it' - many a salesperson could learn a lesson or two from him. Thanks Jeff.
Cheers,
Darren

Jeff's reputation continues to be well-earned. Although you sound like a dream customer who knows what he wants and is happy to deal quickly.

Unfortunately, I was not impressed with the service despite all the good feedback. I don't mean to rant, but rather to share my experience.

Bought a demo car. Was promised that it would be under 500 km or else he will pay a dollar for each km it was over. Went to pick it up and:

1. car went over by 5-10 km than promised. No big deal in one perspective, but he guaranteed and assured several times that it would definitely be under 500 km. He was not apologetic about it at all, and said it's only a few km. The point is that he guaranteed it would be under and afterwards, he is acting like he never said such thing.
2. The car also had several scratches. Long ones, small ones, but that's fine they will buff it out for me though it was a waste of time to travel back and forth. Not his fault.
3.The ownership he provided me was a one that was blurry and you can barely make out the words because it was printed badly. We tried to decline it since it was such a bad print job, but he insisted it was fine and pushed us to take it. We brought it to the MTO and they were furious that such ownership was even issued. Even if it was issued in error by them, the dealership should have NEVER released it to their client.

The whole process was not ideal. Given his good rep,I at least wanted pleasant or 'regular' service and wasn't even aiming for outstandingservice. His attitude resembles that of a person who is frustrated, and impatient. He made me feel like I was being annoying and nit-picky. I don't think the things I mentioned above are being nit-picky? *shrugs*

Everytime I brought up something he didn't want to deal with ( even though it is clearly his or the dealerships fault), he would give me that 'attitude'. Mind you, I did not argue with him, but simply questioned him when a problem arose. He may have been busy with too many customers, but don't try to make your customers feel like an annoying idiot when asking perfectly legit questions. I felt like he did not want my business. He probably didn't since he has SO many customers thanks to the good feedback out there.

I sincerely hoped that maybe it was an off day for him. But after dealing with him on the phone and in person several times (initial questioning, deciding to buy the car, payment through the phone, picking up the car, picking up the 'fixed' car), his attitude ceased to change. I told him the last day that I was disappointed, and he kind of apologized. Maybe others who haven't had such good experiences with him just aren't stepping out to go against the greater 'good'? I don't think he's a horrible person or anything...but def not as great as all the feedback out there makes him seem.

why delete this... This is so dumb , everyone is entitled to their opinion ... I havent dealt with jeff but everyone can have a bad day or not everyone is going to be please thats just the way it is .. so learn to deal with it ... He did not bash MOT he just shared his experience ....

I been to so many places that were recomended by others and i wasnt too please with the service ... It could be a bad day for the seller or something like that , it happens .. 1 bad review out of 100 doesnt mean Jeff is a bad person if anything it just shows everyone can have a bad day simple as that .. so learn to live with it and stop crying

First off, I wasn't ****in' cryin'. If I felt like bitching, I would. :)

Second, I have no problem with this person posting what they did since it is an opinion about their experience and everyone else should be able to read it. I find it odd when their first and only post is a complaint, that's all. I would like to see some other posts to see that this person isn't just coming here to cause a problem or voice an issue than leave. That could cause a lot of issues with feedback, etc.

Maybe we'll see more posts from this user in the future and that will change my opinion. Until then that's how I feel about the post.

EDIT: Also, we've had some weird posters lately using similar tactics.

i felt strongly about this to post about it.

not too impressed about being 'judged' so quickly....but i thought my post would be useful for others with a different view.

as said before, i'm not saying jeff's bad. just that my experience was less then stellar and that people should be cautious about things/people/places that are supposedly great.

You as a person was not being judged so please don't feel like I was attacking you. I just don't care when people come in, drop a comment about something and then disappear. I've already noticed you've posted a little so that's a start. Stay a while and enjoy the TM3 community. Everyone is pretty nice around here. Myself included...no really. :)

I have to say that I live close to the dealership...I have dealt with Jeff twice in the past, and have 2 friends who have gone to Jeff as well.....

Hes a really good salesman....and I would probably buy from him because honestly he can get the best price....I shopped around and found a comparable deal from one of my dads friends who also happens to be a Mazda salesman so I went with him.......

Overall though the thing that got me about Jeff and two of my boys who went into the Mazda dealership was the "u gotta make the deal today" attitude

Went last year at the end of July when the 0% financing was ending.....and they acted like it would never come back not in a million years....All I gotta say is read a paper!

Since then...I have gone to the dealership with 2 different Mazdas for service as well hitting them up for accessory parts on a regular basis.....

And they dont really make u feel like they care...I went in to the dealership to have my oil changed, next day oil light came on.....I went back....and their like ur gas cap is broken u need to have it replaced...Im like okay ill wait they quoted $180! Im like im coming to pick up my car...their like no if u want to pick it up its $110.....

The last time i went I went with my 09 Mazda 3 sport and the steering pump was whining like a b&tCh...their like its a noisy system.....great diagnosis...esp when my bro has the same exact car even the same colour...lol... and it dont make that noise!

But yeah.....overall not impressed with the service experience...will be taking it to my uncles shop from now on.....who gives sh*t about their useless warranty n e way....
