Has anyone else here had thier alternator fail. I have a 2004 3 GT with only 84000km on it. Does that seem premature as i don't know too much about this part.

I had the alternator on my '04 fail as well. Similar KM's but I think I was closer to 80,000KM.

Are there any warning signs to watch out for?

I'm fearing mine is ready to go as well, someone told me that a consistent shudder I get at idle in gear is because of it...

i have an 04 with almost 100k kms. nice stereo and haven't had an issue with it. and for the rough idle im not sure it pertains to the alternator,

i searched for a canadian place but no luck yet. anyone found one? ive been told that we can get our stock ones rewound but not sure what the prices are

Yeah I was thinking of getting mine redone... Pretty sure it can be done to increase the amperage.

There is a place in Brampton. I think it is called Brampton Alternators? Something like that. But yea, they rebuild your alternator to get more "Juice" outta it. Seen an impala have it done years back and he got decent amps outta it to run 2000 Watts RMS.

good luck, he might not know where Canada is,....maybe he thought Canada was in the lower 48 so didn't quote you where you live, or did you not tell him..
this is going to be fun...lol

don't forget shipping fees, duty, taxes etc could end up $500
try a hi-performance shop, restoration etc...someone around TO must do it...

The place is off of Merivale on Bentley. I think it's called Jerry's Auto or something. My buddy knows the guy. If it isn't he would know for sure where it's at.
