Question about the rubber(weatherstrip?) strip within the doors

Hi, I"m not sure what they are called exactly, but I"m curious if the rubber linning should be firmly in place around the whole inside of the door?

I was driving on the highway and felt a breeze on the driver side window area, and when i checked the rubber linning, it seemed there where 2 places where the rubber isn't attached to the door(both sides). Is this common?

Pics would help here on exactly what your talking about! But if it's the weather stripping, it's possible that with the thawing then freezing weather we've been having lately the stripping just got pulled out of place.
