Wow.....where do I start....

To make a long story short and to prevent a battle....I am going to keep this simple.

Took the car in and said, "I believe this is broken", they called back and said, yes you are correct, we will fix it tomorrow under warranty. I thought ok cool, brought it back they said yes we fixed it. Drove home and the problem still presented.....obviously no one test drove it.....looked under the hood, hmm well they never did fix what they said they were going to fix.

took the car back. they said yes, we ordered the part.....and we are going to fix it. Later they call and say, you have a cold air intake and it caused the tech an extra hour of work cause he had to fix it......hmm, no I won't pay for it, I never authorized that labour.

Take the car home.....metal on metal grinding on and off.....what the heck, pop the hood, wow, they never did any work on my cold air intake......bunch of liars....and they were trying to charge me for it.

so anyway.....I'm furious at this point and have decided never to go back.

Still metal on metal grinding spuratically and a little vibration in the front end going on for a week. so I go to take the front tire off to check out the brakes for worn pads or whatever because the problem is driving me crazy......and the bloody lug nuts aren't even hand tight.

so not only was I causing damage to my drive train but I also could have been killed or worse yet killed someone else driving down the highway and having my wheel fall off.

Scary stuff people......I'm completely digusted by the way I was treated and worse yet petrified by the fact that I could have been seriously injured.

Take note its important to have a general working knowledge of your car to prevent things like this and to not be taken advantage of.

Wow, another dealer I will never deal with.

All reviews have two sides... given the number of outstanding reviews for Oakville mazda I have a hard time believing this to be the case

Who did you contact at Oakville Mazda?

From the dealers section here on TM3:

Tiffany - Service Manager - tiffany.garrett@oakvillemazda.com
Graham - General Manager - graham.macnab@oakvillemazda.com
Jason Guttman - President - j.guttman@oakvillemazda.com

I know you were trying to keep it simple but if you explain the problem you were having and what was said about ti then it will be a lot easier to understand. I know it can be frustrating when things to not get fixed properly at the dealer though.

No offense even if they have an amazing track record, but F!@K that shit if they didn't even tighten the lug nuts down.
There isn't a sorry or service a dealer could provide me for me to be satisfied. I'd write to head office of Mazda Canada (I know they suck donkey balls), and file a complaint with the BBB if they are part of it.

Too many dealers think they are untouchable these days and it has to quit.
They must be high to think they can get away with something like that.
Hell, I've put people out of work at a dealership before because they treated me like shit and did not perform the work on the car like they were supposed to.

It all over and done.....and nothing can be said or done to bring me back or fix the wrong thats been done.

I don't want to be immature about the whole thing, I just want to state a little about my situation.

I have no reason to be dishonest about this......as there is absolutely nothing for me to gain.....

Whether you believe what I have to say is up to you. I just thought that I had an obligation to inform the mazda community.

The thing about this that worries me is the fact that there could have been a serious accident caused by this. There should be procedures in place to ensure that these types of errors never happen. You'd think that there would be some sort of checklist that the mechanics go through before they let you drive your car home.

+1.... whoever worked on your car... should be GONE. Too many sloppy, missed things,

What was the actual work you went in for?
That is the important question.

If you went in for something under your hood, as I see you have stated looking there, why would they even check you lug nuts?

Obviously the last place you went to did something incorrect.

I can understand if they were taking your tires off for something, but you said you showed them something, I believe under the hood, that was broken but did you ask them to check your wheels?

I would say that you should contact Jason directly of Oakville Mazda if you haven't and find out what went on.

They seem to be very reasonable.

I am all for venting and making sure if you have been wronged that no one else have to go thru the same thing, but as I read your message, they didn't go near the wheels.

I hope you get this resolved and find out what truly happened.

Good luck and try to stay calm. Be thankful nothing happened to you or anyone else.

Just find the truth of the matter.

yes, I apologize to all, I was rash with my comments.

ultimately I have no proof that they touched the wheel, and I must apologize that I implicated them.....though this problem didn't occur til after they repaired the engine mounts. Whether they removed the tire or not I will never know nor is there any point of me debating it

In the end my tire is now on properly, my engine mounts were fixed by Oakville mazda and all is good, the car is safe, thats what is important.

unfortunately I was quick to point the finger due to previous experiences.

I would prefer to have moderator throw this thread away at this point.....

its pointless to argue about who did what, when and where etc.......I will never know.

I regret creating the thread....

I have to say I have a greater respect for you from your last message.
It is humbling but I think you did the right thing.

I don't believe they even touched your wheels for an engine mount. I may be wrong, I am not a technician.

We hope to see more posts from you.

Don't feel bad. We all vent. It was a dangerous situation and you needed someone to blame.

I hope all else is well.

Take care.

I had initially posted a response to the accusations, but it seems to have gotten lost in the migration.

I sincerely appreciate the apology, and I hope people scroll down to read all the posts. Here is the initial response:

For those of you who have been around and think the review and the comments are out of character, it is.

Here are the facts:

The first time we ever saw this 4-year old 2005 Mazda 3 was on February 12, over a month ago.
You came into the dealership with a problem that you or somebody else diagnosed and wanted it fixed under warranty. We performed several repairs to the engine mount.

The vehicle had an aftermarket Cold Air Intake that was held in place by a few zip ties. The CAI was moving around and making noise. Our technician needed to move the aftermarket CAI, the aftermarket wiring and remove your battery box to perform the repairs to the vehicle. We advised you of the work we did and we didn't charge for the extra work that the technician performed because of your mods.

We never removed, nor touched the wheels on this vehicle. Our technician does not take off the wheels when replacing an engine mount. If the lug nuts were ready to fall off, perhaps you should speak to the shop or person who checks your brakes, swaps your tires, or performs maintenance on your car.

You didn't call or email any of us at the dealership in the past month since you got your car back. Your only action was to post this "review" after a month. If you would like to review any of the documentation about the wheels or additional work, I would be happy to provide it.

We have TONS of positive reviews and Tiffany, Robin, Nelson and I have worked very hard over the past year to becoming one of the best service departments in Canada (1st in our district for CSI and 2nd in Ontario for Fix It Right The First Time).

I think you were mistaken.

I can appreciate the concern about a wheel coming loose and the knee-jerk reaction that come with a big safety concern like that. It's probably more frustrating for me when a post is created with a title like this and turns out that we had nothing to do with the issue.

I would like to take this opportunity to let everybody know that if you have a problem or concern, please, please, please, call or email Graham (our GM), the Department Manager, or myself. I can't read minds and I want everybody to have a great experience. It may turn out to be a misunderstanding or maybe we can fix whatever it is. It sure beats "shooting first and asking questions later".

J
PS. Icecubetray, if it would make you feel better, I can have our technician show you how he changes the engine mounts.
