But I couldn't wait to put on the rims I bought from Mogul. Weather shows no snow in the 14 day forecast.

I have Prokits, and now have 205-45 17's...

The tires are louder than my winters! (this suprised me) I find theres more road noise... is this because of the "low" profile tires?

I had prokits with marhsmellow winters, and the 15 inch proxies... I must say it feels SOOOO much tighter! :-)

Stupid (you asked for it!).

The road noise could have increased from the tread pattern. Are you using new tires that you haven't used before? I have to say that my winter tires are noticeably louder than my summer tires (Toyo Garrits vs. Nexen n3000).

I recently put rims in my civic and i also found a louder road noise. Front tires have a lot of thread left on them but rear tires are gone. I put 16s in a 14s stock civic

You are not alone in the road noise thing . I was also surprise at first

Haha, we'll Hopefully I'll have horseshoes!

I bought the rims and tires off Mogul Pro. http://www.torontomazda3.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=28987&highlight=lexus

They need a good cleaning, and I need to get a decal to go around the lip of the rim - Theres a bit of scuffing. I'm thinking I'll buff it out, put clear coat on it to stop it from corroading more, then put a strip over it. Probably black or Dark Gunmetal type.

The tires are all fairly evenly worn, with the exception of 1 that has a bit of corner wear. I put that on the tire side with the best alignment, to "preserve" it. (they never got my car 100% perfect afer the prokits)

I must say... It is a completely different beast! Kind of like a go-kart. It's a bit un-nerving how the car tugs when one tire in the back hits a bump!

I'm sure I'll get used to the noise. Mind you, I had the raido and fans off to listen for anything amis.

Good news.

Bad news is... theres a bit of vibration through my steering wheel. it really only shows at 100kph. Balance? How much does it cost just to get a wheel balanced (and mounted) should I just get it done at the dealer?

Or could it be allignment? (I had my alignment done on my winters in October.)

STUPID

you asked.

sounds like need a balance. Not alignment. Alignment is when steering pulls violently or has a mind of its own.

To decrease tire noise, proceed to turn up stereo volume. Its a common fix for most issues like valve ticking, broken exhaust, low engine oil.

LMAO funny guy. That's ANOTHER thing I have to fix. I think when Oakville mazda replaced my cabin filter, the "upset" the connection that goes to my amp in the back. I have to give my stereo little "love tap" to get the right side to work again.

Theres a bunch of things really annoying me about my car. If my new fog light comes this week, I'll be taking the car to my brothers, putting it on lifts, Removing the bumper, Modifying the horn, (adding the second horn back on) and replacing the fog light. I mind as well do the stereo over again while I've got it in a heated, well lit Garage.

THEN I'll get kaval to buff it to a shine and be set for summer!
