Hi all,

I have been thinking about getting some new rims for the summer. So I thought I would get some opinions on if this looks good or not. I want to upgrade to a 17" RIM preferable the 5 spokes (if I can get my hands on them). But then I started thinking I wonder what white rims on a metro grey would look like. Well this is what it would look like.... what do you think? Should I stick with the alloy look or go for a white rim? Theser are of course the stock 16" but this gives you a good idea. I am also getting the calipers painted red.

I'd go for it. Just keep in mind they will show the dirtyness more since they are white.

I think it's nice.. BUT the car should be lowered.. white will def get the attention

Then its just a matter of figuring out what to paint the calipers!:chuckle

My brother has a grey Jetta with white rims and I dont feel it at all! Too much of a colour contrast!

I'm not into it, maybe if the car was a bright colour?

Thanks for the input! Yes I would like to get the car lowered, however due to lack of funds I'll have to limp by with 17's to close up that "gap".

I think they look great on other brightly coloured cars as well. Just not so much on black or gray or other less vibrant colours. They're just too bright and need a bright colour to go with them.

what's a good spring and drop rate will work on that OEM 16's? don't want too low, just subtle/decent drop

thanks :)

light drop - Htechs
medium drop - prokits
heavy drop - sportlines

white rims look nice but they are a pain to clean.

I'm not sure what you think is a "light drop". I'd consider prokits light...H-techs are basically the same drops in the front as a prokit but just less in the back.

From the following link

http://www.torontomazda3.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=8772

Prokit is 1.2" all around and H-techs are listed as 1.38"front, .91"rear *5dr hatch...so more or equal drop in the front for the htech and less in the back.

Sportline and S-tech are heavy/low though with the same idea. Sportline = even drop and S-tech = more in the front than the back.

Really though, for a 16" tire/rim, prokits were pretty good on my 16" winter tires...look very sweet on my 17" summers though

white rims for sure, its good to look different than every other car on the car but definately lower it!
