I stopped by Simply Tire this past weekend to have some work done. I usually don't let people drive my car, but when Allen drove off in my ride I noticed when he hit the brakes that my drivers side brake light didn't light up. Seemingly an obvious problem, I went to cdn tire and purchased new bulbs. Today, when I unlocked my car (I have the compustar pro), I noticed that my brake lights flash.

I just came in from locking and unlocking my car with the remote, and every time the brake light illuminates, but won't light up when I step on the pedal. Any suggestions? Anyone else experience this?

Actually, to take this one step further, I've noticed that my ashtray light goes on and off. Also, behind the vent selector switch the light also goes off. All I do is knock the console with my finger and it lights up again. I'm wondering if I have larger issues.

*edit* I found out that our brake lights are dual filament (non-LED). I'm going to try and swap a new bulb in to see if that fixes it.

The brake lights are connected in parallel, if there is problem this problem is bulb, socket or wiring to the socket.
And, yes, the alarm is working with tail lights.
Under the top cover of instrumental panel are two distributing connectors C17 and C18. They distributing power for all illuminating lamps of control panel.

If you want a quick test, swap the working brake light bulb with the non working, and test.

If the bulb works, you need a new bulb.
If the original working one is the only one that still works, you got's other issues.

Also check connectors for corrosion, solid connectivity, etc.

Is it a dual filiment bulb? Maybe one of the filiments went.

Thus swapping the bulbs to check if that IS the case.

They are dual filament, and yes, one of the filaments had failed. Swapped in a new bulb and everything is irie.
