Ok, so i took my car in last thurs because i had a crunching noise coming from my transmission. Whitby Mazda couldn't duplicate the sound which i don't hold against them... anyway the noise came back so today on the way home from work i took it in and had them hear the sound, the tech said that the noise is coming from the Clutch assembly fork, he said to me that the fork assembly looks dry. So i went in and and talked to the tech and the service guy and since i have 55k on the car they said i should wait until my next service to have it lubed because Mazda wont cover the service alone on the Fork assembly, because they only cover creeks and growns for 1 yr or 20k.

So my question is, could i expect any other surprises from this creeky assembly fork?
Will any dealerships that sponser this forum lube this assembly without charging me, or help me out at all?

or any advice?

thanks

well the whole point of lube is to keep things that rub together from drying up and wearing out. if it were another seldom-used part, i could see you waiting until the next service, but you use the clutch dozens of times a day..if it's creaking because of lack of lube, i'd be want it to be fixed. go for a second opinion?

As far as advice, I would find out what the proper lubricant/grease is that they use for that and apply it yourself. Even something applied from the outside should be able to work it's way into the joint.

Better than leaving it to its own demise!
