My ABS light came on on my dash a couple weeks ago and I did a quick search around and saw that ppl were saying that abs sensors simply fail and need to be replaced, seemed to be covered under warranty and such so I wasn't worried much about cost to me.

Thankfully all the snow has finally melted and things are warming up here so I didn't need ABS anyway.. but I was pretty disappointed to see my car that was 6 months old only start to have parts failing.

I just got back from mazda and they said that my abs wire harness had been chewed up by something (probably squirrels).. the part has been ordered and i gota go back in later to have it replaced.

I guess my point is that i'm glad it wasn't mazda's fault in anyway.. but I guess I'm a bit skeptical with the explaination in the sense that why would a squirrel want to chew up some stuff in a car? does car taste good to them? :chuckle

So that was you at MOT? I was behind you waiting for Rob. At least everything is covered under warranty.

Those damn raccoons were probably hungry and thought, "hey warm stringy things, must be worms :P"

if it was a rodent that chewed the wires I don't think the repairs would be
covered under warranty, just a thought...

I thought so too. which is what makes me a bit skeptical and wonder why the dealership is being nice and covering it?

I know this sort of thing happens and animals do go up as far as the engine bay, but is it typically covered under warranty?

Maybe I should stop questioning it and be thankful its covered, but I'm just curious about it..
