Finally got these installed this morning. I wasn't sure about the red all winter, but I like the look.

I installed a red Mazdaspeed decal on the rear window to help tie some red in with the wheels. (too much?)

Just to get the pro-kits installed now, can't wait.

Here are a few pics, with and without the decals. Comments welcome.

Car looks good

I see you got ramps hanging on the wall..How do you like it? I am debating on buying them.

Looks good, but needs to be metallic red thou. Hard to match that.

You're talking about the decals right?

Like the ramps a lot. Have to use 2X4's to get the car up on the as is. I do the oil changes on both cars so they are very handy.

Paint the calipers too!

Painted them today as well. Went black with red Mazdaspeed decals. I guess it's pretty hard to see in the pics. I thought about painting them red but thought they might stick out too much.

Take the decals off the window.

What kind of rims are those? Also, have you thought about painting the lip white? I've seen it before on a white Mazda 6 and BMW, and it was pure sex.

I have thought about next winter when they're off getting the lip done CWP to match the car.

That would look fantastic.

I was just going to say the samething. Go for the change, not feeling the current look.

Looks fine with the decals.
Nice look.
Painting calipers will complete the look..... of course along the lines of lowering as well.

I don't want to say anything about the rims till I see it lowered, but I don't like the sticker to honest. If it was white, then yeah!

The sticker seems too out of place... but i like the rims.

Lose the sticker you f'in ricer. :chuckle

I hate to be negative as your car is sweet and I know you love it, but personally (and this is entirely a personal and subjective thing) I don't think the rims work on a white car. The red lip/ring on the rims would look better on a black MS3 than it does on white. There just isn't enough other red on the car to match it and the white is too bright against the red. With a Black MS3, red is a more natural compliment.

Again man, not trying to bash you, just expressing my opinion as you asked. As long as you're happy, that is all that truly matters.

However, lose the f'in sticker... :)

Not a fan of the sticker. I like the look of the red lip on the CWP. A white lip wouldn't look to shabby either though.

The sticker is gone and the car is lowered on Pro-Kits now. I'll take more pictures once the springs have had a chance to settle more.

Thanks for the comments guys. The more I look at the car I like the look. At first I honestly wasn't crazy about the red/white. Who knows maybe next winter I'll take them off to sell to someone with a black Mazda and try something else.

Looks ok, I had a thread on if I should get the same type of rims for my white 3.....there were choices that didn't have a blaring red lip, or even silver rim (advanti) with the red almost behind the rim instead of on the lip which doesn't make it stand out so much but still look nice......either way not bad.

i don't know there's just something weird about those rims. i usually like black rims with a red lip but not this time. the red lip is too big and is distracting. should be a pin stip at most imo, like these,

To each their own right. The look has grown significantly on me since I put them on. When the car is in motion I think it looks really sharp.

Nothing is ever permenant anyways, I'm always changing my ideas.

Pics with it dropped?

I was going to wait for the springs to settle completely before I take the pics. Right now it's sitting about 3/4" lower.

If I can get the car looking halfway decent with all this rain I'll take a couple on teh weekend and post em.

I like it, it adds a nice red accent to the white car to go along with the rims. ever think of losing the side door moldings. real easy to take off.

Looks great. A close-up of the rims on the car would be nice...

Personally I think you should get rid of the sticker. The rims are fantastic.

Well here are a couple pics with the car lowered.

I am toying with the thought of going white for the red lip. Not sure yet as the red has really grown on me.

If anyone has the time I would really appreciate a photoshop with white lips.

Thanks.

You can feel a difference in the stiffness for sure. Small bumps and notches that I never really noticed are now magnified by about X2. One set of tracks I have to cross to get to work I really have to slow down to a crawl for now.

IMO it was worth it though. I like the look.

Have you ever thought about a blue lip around the rims?

Mazda3X2
05-01-2009, 10:50 PM
Well I ripped off the red lipped rims and made a switch. I think these compliment the car better. I'm really happy with the look.

A couple pics, the car is dirty for now but just to give an idea.
