Random Alarm Set offs?

Hey Guys,

Went outside this morning to get something from my dad's Chevy Malibu, which was parked in the driveway. My Mazda3 is parked beside it. I unlocked the doors with the keyless entry, and I can't remember if it was right away, but the Mazda's alarm started to go off! I ran into the house to get my keys to stop it at 5AM lol....probably woke some people up.

Anyways. Has anyone had this problem? It was really weird. Keyless remotes crossed frequencies? I don't even know if thats possible.

P.S. I searched the forum but couldn't find a similar problem.

I don't think that's the problem...has it done it before or is the first time it's done it?

My bro leave's in morning and he is keyless entry for his chevy truck and it's never affected my car or my his gf car and she has a 3 with factory alarm.

Do you have remote start or an aftermarket alarm? If so the shock sensor may be set to high and when you closed the door to the other car, it could have set it off.

No, my car is 100% stock (Hope to chance that soon lol).

But yeah, the alarm is stock. Maybe it was a one-off thing. This was the first time it has happened. We'll see if it continues.

This happened to me today too!!! I thought i just pressed the button by accident but thats impossible! I was in my dads hyundai tucson 06 and i opened his door, his alarm went off because with this car, you must unlock using the key buttons and not key its self. Well sure enough the alarm goes off on the 3 as well.. WTF? I so i shut mine off and that was that.. I guess your not alone O_o
