Took my car in this morning to Mazda of Toronto for my 72,000 km service. Ali was the only one there at 7:05 am. Yes...I was scared.

Anyways, he smiled at me and asked if he could help me. Oh what the fark I thought, might as well give it another shot. Told him I had an appointment for my 72,000 service as well as another issue I wanted them to take a look at. I explained to him a "sewing machine" like sound coming from the engine bay. I couldn't believe the amount of notes he was taking. It looked like a farking novel. He seemed genuinely interested in my problem and not rushed to get to the next guy. He didn't even try to sell me any extra services!

WTF?

I left him my car and told him I would be back at 12:00 to pick it up. Get this...he calls me at 11:00 am to let me know they were tracking down a part and the car would be another 45 minutes before being completed. That was courteous of him to let me know. 1:00 pm roles around and I show up at the dealership and the car is done. Ali has a smile on his face and explains the the sound was a loose AC belt so they replaced it. I have to admit the guy was on the ball and very polite, no hard sell of services whatsoever.

So I know what you're thinking. What happened to the guy that used to be Ali v1.0? Don't know and I don't care. Ali v2.0 is fine by me. Fair is fair he did a good job on my car. Only time will tell.

ALi was definately quite the character. I think my first experience with him, was that he told me my clutch was going. I wasn't impressed with that. And he told me a whole bunch of other things that I needed to change. ... I avoid him at all costs.

I gave him a good earful about 2 years ago, he avoids me now. :) Everytime I walk in he just glides aside and tells Vincent I am here to see him.

Ummm I just never believe anything Ali says now. There was another guy before ... he was always straight up with me? Never gave me hassles, and never tried telling me all the things that I "need" ... to get done.

Hmm... maybe I'll do what you do! lol... Give him an earful next time. Speaking of which... I think I need to take my car in soon. lol

Hard to believe...

I was there to get my tires changed, he told me it would be about 45 minutes. I came back an hour later, and he said it would just be a few more minutes. About 15 minutes later, I looked outside to see them only then taking my car out of the parking lot!

Very poor experience out at MOT, and disappointed Ali was giving me estimates when he had no clue what was going on with my car!

Interesting - thanks for sharing!

After my bad experience with 1.0 about a year ago, I'll still be avoiding him like H1N1 until I read 10 reviews like this one...

does Ali even work there anymore?

I think there's a lady now Marilyn or Kristen?

BTW: all the guys with lowered cars/front lips

do you guys ever worry that the techs will nose dive your cars into the pavement?
i'm not slammed... i only have cobb springs.... and a front lip... but i know it can't handle steep declines or inclines without going at it on an angle....

i can't remember if this is a big problem at MOT

I was there today, rather unexpectedly, thanks to Dave Wood Mazda not giving me the key for my wheel locks when I got the car.

I met the new lady Marilyn. Very nice. The other lady seems nice too but I didnt get her name. And of course Vincent was there.
