when shifting gears, do you press the clutch pedal all the way to the floor, or half way, just past the friction point?
up until now i was under the impression that you just had to push the pedal past the friction point and you were good, then someone told me otherwise..i don't know who to believe so i come to the tm3 forums for your help
help!

For upshifting, you should be good if the clutch fully disengages. I don't believe you have to push it all the way to the floor. I don't; never have; and never have had any problems in my cars.

Downshifting is a different story.

Best way to do it, is slam your clutch all the way down whenever you switch gears. And downshifting, you have to make sure you're in the proper rpm bracket to switch to a lower gear, the clutch is the same idea though, the way I learned is that slamming your clutch is the safest way to shift without risking any burning of your clutch etc.

I always slam the clutch to the floor, it's much safer to prevent clutch burning

Didn't you lose a clutch at 60,000km?

Goal of shifting is to maintain smoothness. If your passengers are about to puke, you might want to change your clutch habits.

I push in pretty much all the way.

I fail to see your point. You continued to say the exact same thing I did.

push is not the same as slam.

slam implies use of strong force, sudden impact.

Push all the way to the floor... you can still be very smooth doing so at normal rpm ranges...

but keep in mind trying to have super smooth clutch engagement while trying to accelerate quickly with high rpm's and large amounts of throttle wears the clutch much faster than fast clean engagement.. even if it chirps the tires :)
