How will Rx-8 wheels effect my performance of my 2010 sport GS, most importantly will the fit stock without lowering. Ive searched and found numerous conflicting reviews. Anyone had experience they would like to share?

well the weight is going to be heavier so your gas consumption will increase. depending how much you lower your car and which tires you decide to put on the rims will tell if you are going to rub or not.

if i were to just leave the car ride height the same for now, would 45 series tires rub?
I searched all over and couldn't find the weight of my current wheels, i found the 2009 16's were at about 18.4 i believe and these are around 20-22. I wouldn't change them if the performance and gas consumption would be noticeably different. A minor change I can live with though.
I'm new and am just looking for some feedback from people with larger rims. There are so many threads with different views and numbers.

well i haven't seen any 2010's with RX-8's yet but some 3's from 04-09 using various springs such as S-techs, Prokits, Sportlines all use 225/40/18 tires IIRC and one of the members who is rocking rx8's and sitting on sportlines is rubbing with the 40 series tires.

looks nice :) I was curious though did the ride feel very rough on those rx8 rims? as i know the 18s on my g20 make the car hug the road but literally FEEL the road too. That's why i'm always a bit wary of taking her out during this timeof the yr because of all the potholes that need to be repaired *have u seen the size of the one that's at yonge/sheppard in the metro parking lot!?*

Why not go with some other aftermarket wheel that's lighter?
IMO, the RX-8 wheels on mazda 3's are over done
