Sup all.
Been a while since I've logged on here. Hope everyone's good and enjoying their Mazdas!
Need some advice. So I've got a 2007 Mazda 3 GT (purchase May 2007) with 51K on it. I just had my winters taken off and the guy was telling me that the wear bar on my stock tires are gone and I need to buy new tires. First of all, does that make sense? I mean I probably only put 40K on these tires and they're already going? I thought these are supposed to last 80K-100K. But I do drive aggressively. Let me know if this makes sense. Or is this something I should go to the dealership and talk with them.
Okay moving on to new tires. These are some tires that seem to be getting high reviews. Want to know your opinions. I'm looking to keep this around $600 if possible.

Let me know what you guys think.

You can check the wear bar on your tires yourself if you doubt what you have been told.

no I don't doubt the guy. I just wanna know if I should go yell at mazda for putting crappy tires on my car.
But, if this IS normal. then so be it. I'll buy new tires.

Yea man, Goodyear RS-As are shit quality and wear super quick. So yea, its normal, no worries. Check with a sponsor for new tires and best deal :)

+1, the Goodyear RS-A's are really bad tires and premature wear in comparison to others. Now is a good time to pick up some new rubber as sponsors such as Simply Tire are having some good specials, check out what the all our sponsors have to offer.

You were lucky to get 40k out of them!

Grab the Falken ZE912. Cant say enough about them for the price point. Perfect that you have winters.
Let me know if you need any help!
Thanks

i was surprised too when the dealership started telling me that my tires were going and i hardly had the car for a year and a half (I dont recall the mileage)... i took my car to get the callipers done and allan from simply tire told me straight up that although the tread was down it wasnt time to change the tires... i eventually got 62000km out of them but i think the last few thousand were forced

replaced my tires at 40-45000K as well so it seems kinda normal with these tires

Eagle RS-A is a terrible tire so it's not such a bad thing they wear out quickly. =)

Cool Cool... so which tires should I go with. I found two options (see first post), but anything else you recommend. I want an aggressive, sporty look, and tires that make my car stick to road.
You know... something that will let me do right turns at 60 clicks. HA!

THey had to find the price break somewhere for the affordability of a Mazda3.
Where else to start but to provide RSA tires. affordable for Mazda to put on the cars and lighter on owners pockets, thinking eventually newer tires will be purchased soon.
with the Toyo tires I had on the 16s, It lasted for 3 winters, . But then again I forgot the KMs I used.
My suggestion next tire, purchase summer tires, and purchase winters.. That way you wont need to change tires that often.
And with prices from Allen, and John you can't go wrong.....
Oh and I would go with Falken ZE912.... Good on the wallet, and very responsive!!!

Does that say treadwear of 300, if so RSA are at 260.. that means your Falkens will last you 15% more... then RSAs or instead of 40k, now its 46k.. dont think it would worth it for you if you concerned about tread wear.
