Stock alarm. I tried flashing a new Cobb map and it told me that there was a problem with connecting with the ecu and then it wouldn't start

So this happened after trying to flash?

It didn't even finish the flash it said that there was a problem and gave me a code of 1014 don't know what it means
I tried to get the code off the car but it tells me that there is no code. So I guess the code is only for the AP

Try posting this on the Cobb forum, and I'd even try contacting them directly. I think there might be some sort of recovery function on the AP.

Sounds like you have a corrupted ECU because of the partial flash. Try unmarrying the AP or flashing a stock flash to the car... If it still says that it cannot connect to the computer then I think you're screwed. :/

If you are lucky, there will be some fail safe way to recover the flash / ECU, otherwise you should visit a mod friendly dealer...

If Mazda doesn't have a way to recover the ECU without taking it to the dealer, I'd personally get a replacement ECU (If I could find one cheap) rather than risk my dealer finding out I'm running a custom flash... Although, to be honest, they will probably just re-flash it and not examine it to see what's up...

Remember that if you get your ECU replaced your AP won't work without spending additional $$$ with Cobb...

Contacted cobb waiting for a reply but i think i'm SOL because it is a weekend and they said that they are extremely busy and could take 5 business days to get back to me.

so i guess i'll be going to the dealership tomorrow morning and getting them to fix it.

what is a cobb map?

a Cobb Map is a custom map that COBB tuning produced, with the Accessport. It is only designed for the speed. And now with the AccessTunner Race that COBB released you have the ability to custom change your own maps (increasing idle speed, adding more boost, improving throttle response, etc.) allowing you to be more connected to your car.

Think simple maybe Kyle, check your fuses. Possibly your immobilizer has failed, cut the connection to your starter?

I say keep flashing, I had a friend with sorta the same situation and he just reflashed back to a stock map and was enough to get him home.
You throwing a CEL? I can check it up if you want.

can't flash anything the ap does not connect anymore, no cel and about an hour ago the Ap just uninstalled on the car. So now i have nothing.

where is the Immobolizer fuse.

So far i found that 3 other people had the same problem, they were in luck and got in touch with cobb and i guess they seem to have fixed the problem.

so apparently i've bricked my ecu, the funny thing is it happened to anothter person on another forum. it happened to him on friday, mine was on saturday, his was at 13% flashing and mine was at 13% too. Both of us never touched the connection when it was flashing. lucky for him he got in contact with Cobb on friday and they are fixing it. On the other hand i'm still waiting for Cobb to get back to me.
