Where to put screws when installing a lip?

So i recently got a lip off Gabe and Im wondering... I know you use double sided tape and tap in screws to hold it in place. But where about do you put the tap in screws. I just wanted a little more opinions before i put my screws in after I get it painted.

Should the screws go into the splash shield? Would i have to worry about the vibration causing the holes in the splash shield to widen and the screws fall off?

Should i put it into the bumper as it will hold the lip better?

I would just like some opinions from others before i proceed to install it. Thanks

i would think the screws go in the splash sheild, and the tape goes on the bumper.

Yes, there are holes already, but when i test fitted it today it seem "to me" that it would go into the bumper, and i wish to relocated it further so i will have the people fill in the holes and i will make my own later.

And yea... kinda nooby mistake :blush. I saw the E and automatically assumed it was exterior mod section. Can a mod please move this to the right section?

Ben if I recall Gabe had the screws in his splash shield.

There are holes on the lip because Gabe made em there. There are no holes on the inner wheel wells where the lip wraps around on mine because i never had a lip before.

It's just that when I lined it up it "looked" like it would go into the bumper if i screwed the screws in. Gabe told me it didnt go into his bumper. So im thinking that probably when i test fitted the lip i didn't pull it in tight enough and it seemed that the holes were to go into the bumper.

But from judging by the comments made, I guess it is best to have the screws put into the splash shield instead of to the bumper
