Hi all,
My new 2010 MZ3 has a problem with the Bluetooth. I can't get or make calls. I've had it in to the shop and one of the mechanics told me that this is a common problem for all of the Mazdas with Bluetooth. Does anyone have a fix?
Anyone else having problems with theirs?
BTW I have a Motorola Razor3.

Need more info! Do you get the little telephone symbol to display in the car? Does your phone show the BT is linked? Do you have any other BT devices in the car? (Other headsets or GPS with BT)

Hi,
Sorry for the late reply. Jut got back from an Alaskan cruise.
My Razor links up fine with all other BT devises I have or have used. The Razor does link to the car but when I make a call it gets dropped every time. Basically the call goes through but I can't hear anything and neither can the the person I'm calling, then the phone just hangs up by itself.

Hi all,
Just a follow up. I had to change phones. The Razor 3 would not link up properly. I tried 2 of them. So luckily they are now offering the KRZR at my work now. So I tried it out and voila.
If anyone else has a Razor 3 cell phone beware that if you get the BT with your MZ3 you wont be able to use that feature.:flaming

Just wait till the 17th, then us iPhone users will get much better BT support, with BT audio support as well :)
I've been using my iPhone in the car, works flawlessly.
I've never liked motorola, the operating systems are always so locked down.
As for what the mechanic said, it sounds like he did not know the compatibility list and just tried to shove you away with the "it's a common problem, to bad" excuse.
If you still have the old phone, I would try updating the phone's software.

Thanks for the reply. It's a work phone, so I no longer have it. I'm not allowed to upgrade the phone and the IT department didn't give me that option. Too bad, I liked the Razor 3 better than the KRZR.

Ouch, well does your work allow nokia phones? I find they are usually much higher quality then Motorola. What service provider does your work use? Telus and Bell lock down many of the phone features.

The only other option would be a Black Berry. The service provider is Rogers. Although I would like to have a Black Berry, it comes with too many strings attached. But I may get forced to carry one eventually. :complain

There is an advantage to the new cell phone laws...
Boss: "Why didn't you answer / reply to my phone call / e-mail."
You: "Sorry, I was on the highway and because of the new law, I leave my phone in my bag. I didn't even notice the call / email till you mentioned it.
My work tried to get me a personal Blackberry, but once I told them that I will be documenting all calls and e-mails after hours and billing them for my time, they for some reason stopped bugging me. Last I head of it was in November.

BeEvil,
Did you ever get your Bluetooth problem resolved? I'm having problems with my 2010 GS sedan. All of a sudden, pressing the Bluetooth buttons on the steering wheel does nothing. I can't even get a Bluetooth selection on the radio menu.
I tried pulling the radio fuse. First there's no puller on the fues lid. Next, the the fuses are different than the regular mini-ATC. What's up with that? Do I have to get new fuses from Mazda when I need them? Anyhow, that didn't work. Maybe I'll have to disconnect the battery.
Anybody else had a Bluetooth module go bad?
Thanks,
Roger

Hey Chester,
Yes, I did. But I had to change phones. I now have the KRAZR. I haven't looked at the fuses yet so I don't know where we can get them or what they look like. Try starting over. Delete the phone from the cars memory and then re-link it. Maybe that will solve your problems? Good luck.

Actually, the problem wasn't so much that my phone would not pair, but appeared that the Bluetooth functionality was completely removed.
I removed the negative battery cable and reconnected it. That fixed it right up. Everything is back to normal. If it happens again, I'll figure out which fuse to pull. Probably under the hood.

I had the same thing for the 1st time happen this morning on my way home from work. My Blackberry wouldn't connect to the car, telephone wise, but my MP3's on my Blackberry would play via Bluetooth. I played a bit and got them both working by simply shutting down and restarting my car. Then I found out while driving my song (track) select switch on my steering wheel wouldn't forward or reverse to any different songs. When I got home I shut it down and started it back up and all was good. Dunno what the deal was!!

I think there may be a few kinks to work out?
