This is a good news - bad news story.

Bad news is I had a flat tire today. I parked the car on my driveway yesterday afternoon and noticed the flat tire today. There was no air in the tire at all.

Good news is I think the flat tire was caused by Tire Pressure Caps I bought from Canadian Tire for $5. Initially, I was impressed with the simplicity and low cost of these tire valve caps. As I couldn't find any obvious defect in the flat tire, I asked the CAA guy to fill it with air. Then I put the tire cap and noticed that air was escaping when I tightened the cap pass a certain point. So, I got the CAA guy to remove the replacement tire and put the flat tire, now filled with air, back. I hope the tire cap is the cause of the flat tire. My tires are about a month old and they had Tire Pressure Caps all along. It is a mystery to me why I had a flat tire today. Kids swear they didn't touch the caps.

the CAP or the valve? it sounds like your valve is leaking.

No it is the cap. When I tightened it cap, air starts leaking. My eight year old said that he tightened cap two days ago because he thought it was loose.

There are several negative reviewes in amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/Tire-Pressure-Valve-%252832-lb%252e%2529/product-reviews/B00084IBNQ/ref=dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1) about this product. Apparently caps break very easily and once they're broken they will drain the tires because they need to hold the valve open to read the pressure. According to one reviewer, a totally self-defeating product. They were $5 because CT had deeply discounted them. This product should be recalled as they create a problem instead of helping the car owner. I was lucky to identify the problem. Otherwise I would have taken the flat tire to a shop and probably would have ended by buying a new tire.
