You gotta do what I do man.

I spec out car to be the best of the C (550), B (700) and A (850) class and then race online.

The B-Class races are the best because you really have to tune to have a good car in terms of handling and power and the compeition is tight.

I also sell cars on the online auctions.

It should be a good game but someone at Sony should be fired, it was suppose to come out before Forza and now we'll have Forza 1, 2 & 3 in the same time it took them to release GT5...that's NUTS!

I've been bored with the factory races so I've been primarily doing auctions. I used some of the money to build a few drift cars for myself :)

I love trying to drift in the game and string together a lap, its a new challenge. I can't wait to experience the drag and drifting aspects of FM3.

yea i was reading all the stuff about this on e3. wow im soo pumped for this, iv actully startred playing forza 2 again lol i never beat that game lol i have that last endurance race to do before im donzo.
hopefully the cars in forza3 are of a great selection again like the current game. a cooll idea would be able to transfer over ur vehicals from forza2 to forza3, i know theres some cars on my forza2 that i would never be able to replicate.

The cars, the tuning. To me the graphics aren't even the major part. The physics and realism. Plus they have drift and drag modes now!!! Drool!

I have a Logitech G25 set, which I used to use on my PC but I've since bought a PS3 so I can do it in HD and on a big screen :D I was thinking of getting a 360 before the PS3 but when I saw that the G25 wasn't compatiable, PS3 it was. GT5:P still gives me a good way to burn time, I've been trying to get top 10(at top 20 atm) for a few tracks on the Evo 9.

Played the demo for only two races last night when I got home. Game is great. With all assists it's rediculously easy. Used the R8 first and the California on the second race.

So far so good, now just waiting for the full game next month.

DIRTY! demo. the game is a absolute blast to play. the driving characteristics/graphic/sound effects are superb. whe i raced with the evo the first thing that struck me is crap i can hear the turbo spooling. than when i raced with the california i could here the gt500 whining s/c as it was racing up my tail.
drifitng is fun with the tc turned off and auto braking(which is really dumb) off. that ferrari sure knows how to hold its grip duirng a drift :D

I did wish that the G25 wheel was supported on xbox360. Have it for my PS3/PC but no use on the xbox! lol.

I have been a hardcore fan of all the GT series games and always owned a sony system too!
I must say though, seeing FM3 now (never played it before), it looks quite amazing and although cars, graphics and gameplay are arguably similar, the ability to design your own car is something the GT series never had (GT5 might?!?!) so i think i will likely pick up a copy of FM3 as well, trade in my GT5 prologue for it since it will be rendered useless soon enough :)

Back on the topic of FM though.. I have to say I didn't quite like the feel of FM2. It was good without a doubt just felt off to me. Hopefully FM3 doesn't give me that feeling lol.

I've spent some time in each car. I love the demo. The cars are more detailed than FM2 obviously but the TRACKS!!!! MILES AHEAD OF FM2!!!! They need to work on the shadowing, at times the cars look like the tires are floating. Also I would have prefered a little more smoke or less quickly dissipating smoke when doing drifts.

Key tip. If you go to the leaderboards you can press A and do free run (unlimited laps) without any opponents.

PCLoadLetter I hope to challenge that time :)

I don't know about a TM3 club, but once the game comes out we'll start a new thread and maybe start some online races together or something like that :)

I have to say I love everything about the demo so far except the AI...

While they are much better than FM2 (as in they dont usually ram you off the track) they are too easy... I beat them on Hard w/no assists + full damage the very first time i tried each car... im very good... but I dont think im that good.. I shouldnt pass 7 cars on hard after 2 short laps... :s

I dont know if its because i use a wheel and they made it easy for the controller people or if the vehicles they offer in the demo just outclass the AI cars... though the PI indicated the demo cars to be mid-pack

This is not a super big deal as i race online mostly but i wanted a bit harder challenge from the computer controlled cars... They simply brake at points where a simple throttle lift is sufficient and i seem to late brake them at every corner... again though this could be the cars we have available to us... meh im still going to love it

All assists off is the way to go with this game. I set to all off manual without clutch using the Ferrari California and improved my time by 2 seconds after just 10 laps to get used to it.

Lol how do i even have a drift score... ive never even tried to drift.. mistake?


It records a drift score for any lap you do I think. I checked one before with the GT3 and my drift score was 25. Sliding isn't fast.

Essentially if I try any harder I don't think I'll see daylight :p

Drifting is recorded no matter what, but I like going into drift mode because it shows you your points instantly.

I think its just the way its tuned for stock "safe" understeer..

Once the game comes out and we can tune it I have full confidence i can make a monster out of it..

Yep, got all the add on LCE and pre-order whatever. Didn't take that long at all. The install of the second disk and everything took about 15 minutes I think.

I think I'm at level 22 or something, I just got the Benz SL65 Black. Once I'm a good way through the career I'll have to do some online playing.

buddy just broke level 30 and got the bugatti veyron 16-4. DIRTY fast car. like 0-60 in no time and ur averaging 140mph a race. it feels really heavy tho.
season 4 with the R3 races is quite intense. between the ferrari and bmw u cant mess up or there gona over take u. lol they get soo close to ur ass and if u go to wide they either smack ur side or spin u out.

btw what the total drift u guys got on that japanese track? i got 96,xxx with a evoX. if i give the evo more power i can break the 100,000 point mark. im trying to get that stupid achivement

Yah - I'm still playing quite a bit also. After learning to use the clutch with manual shifting as well as turning off ABS braking, I'm much more competitive now. I've been as high as a level 28 Champion - previously I was always around the mid to low Pro level. I'm convinced to move into the Veterans or Legends ranking you need to use a track's "leaderboard car" with a track specific tune.

Will probably grab the new DLC cars today.

If they dont revamp the horrid physics that were present in prologue then GT5 might be a competitor for a recent Need for Speed title... but certainly not for Forza 3.

To me GT5 is vaporware at this point. The release date has been pushed back so many times.... It leads me to belive they have definatly gone back to the drawing board more than once to step up thier game after Forza 3 came out and they tried it. But it will still fail IMO... cockpits for only 200 cars and not all of them... a claimed 1000 car total yet that includes the usual BS like 50 skyline models and 35 WRX models etc... not to mention a whole field of Nascars and other race cars i car nothing for... Seriously why do i need 30 examples of the same car.... incase i want to drive one with or without the optional ash tray?

Forza 3 wins for car count with its 400 cars simply based on the fact they are all very different and all have interior views.

After following development for almost 5 years... i have lost faith... besides GT having worse physics the series allways had poor modification abilities and virtually no visual customization options besides rims.

Forza 3 is a customization, Physics, car selection masterpiece by compairison.
