Brake Kits

Hey all,

I've been searching around on here for people who have upgraded their brake systems and could only find that most members have upgraded their pads and rotors.

I was considering upgrading the system on my car eventually. Looking into getting the MS3 rims and then looking into maybe a Brembo Big brake kit for the mazda or a Wilwood brake kit. I couldn't find much on these two kits. Is that because they are not available for our cars? I'm sure there's something out there that will fit. Has anyone looked into this? Even if we could put the Brembo kit that is used on the Subaru WRX STI.

Want to do a lot of research before doing this since it would be an expensive upgrade!!

i havent seen any bbk for any of the mazda3s including the speed3. you might have to adapt a kit from a mazda6 if they will fit

Off the top of my head. Very pricey though. They also add weight. Unless you track your car (and even then!), I would suggest pads, rotors and lines. Brake feel will be very nice. :)

John hit it on the head. To add to his comments; you will find that for most applications, including auto x, the stock rotor / pad size works fine. You seem to have done some research already, so you know what people recommend in terms of pads and rotors. A BBK would be very nice, and I'll give you mad props for being the first I've seen to sport this setup on TM3!

I have to ask, why would you need/want a BBK vs. a stock size setup? I think a BBK setup for our car is quite costly. I believe you could upgrade to an OEM msp3 setup for a reasonable price.

Hey guys, thanks for the input. Honestly, I realize it wouldn't be the most economic mod, nor the most necessary, but I prefer to put my money into an upgrade like that rather than an exhaust, and making the car faster, etc. I dunno personal preference. Not to mention I love the look of those massive Brembo Calipers. The gold ones are awsome.

I'll have to decide where I want to put my money. Speed3 Rims with a BBK. mmmmmmmmmmmm lol (Thick spokes might hide most of the calipers though) We'll see what happens.

Thanks, I was looking at that. Will have to see if I end up getting the MS3 wheels.
