Hey,
Just wondering if there are any members that have Oakley prescription sunglasses and what their experiences with them are. Where you got them, and if there are any recommended places to order them from.
Also, would anyone know if they cover astigmatism?
I'm looking to get some additional lenses for my Half Jackets that have my prescription for both day and night.
Input would be great!
Thanks!

+1 for Half Jackets... awesome sunglasses...
No idea about Prescription though.. but they do have a list on the site somewhere... about where to get prescription lenses.

I know lens crafters sells Oakly's and also custom orders prescription lenses for them. I looked at getting a pair last year but my precription for my astigmatism was too strong and thick and would bend the Oakly frames:bang. The optician said that it all depends on your prescription.

It absolutely depends on your prescription and different frames will accomodate different prescription strengths.
How strong is your prescription? I believe there's two numbers to look at for each eye, and if they add up to over 4 or so, then you're SOL when it comes to Oakleys.

Yep..if your scrip is greater than + - 4 you're gonna have to look at something else.
My brother has ordered sunglasses from Heavyglare.com. They has a huge selction of perscription sunglasses and the customer service is excellent.

:S I have bad eyes + astigmatism and have been told that because of my bad eyes, any "curved" style of sunglasses is pretty well out of the question.

I'm in the same boat, no astigmatism, just bad eyes. I think I';m around -5.75, -5.50. though I do have one pair of Rx sunglasses, that have some curve. I was recently trying to purchase a new pair, and all the ones that I like could not be made in my Rx.

My prescription is: -2.50, -0.75, x178
That's for both eyes.
So that means I can't get Oakleys? Because they add up to -5 (according to Wild Weasel)?
And thanks for the suggestion yearoftherat. I'll check that site out.

No that means your ok. Prescriiption per eye is what is being referenced.
Ie, my left eye is -4.25 , that means I can't get them.

Pfft.... your prescription is pretty minor.
I'm in the -5.75, -5.50 range WITH astigmatism. Totally blind.

^^^ Yep... Coke bottle glasses and all, even with the 1.67 index lenses.
There is supposed to be one level thinner than 1.67, but not many places can get it done - it's super easy/cheap to get it done in asia, so I might get some done when I go to Japan :D
