View Full Version : Stuck Moonroof - 2010 MZ3

Hey everyone,

Just got my new 2010 Mazda 3 about 2 weeks ago, and I've run into one problem -- My moonroof is stuck opened in the tilt position.

Pressing down does nothing, but when you press up you hear it trying to push the roof up more (it's like a clicking sound).

I'm probably going to take it in to the dealer, but I was wondering if there was any quick fix to get it at least in the closed position before going to the dealer?

Can you get a buddy to push on it while you are pushing the button to close it? Least that way it will be closed.

Sorry for your problem with your 2010. I've had a couple minors with mine as well.

DON'T FORCE IT! Just get it to the dealers asap.

Yes i know this..my car has the moon roof also..if something is jamed in their then your not going to be able to close the sun roof on the tilt postion

It's a long shot but try pressing the slide/open button and then try the tilt.
I had a similar problem with my Mazda6.

I wish I had a moonroof. lol

Just bring it to the dealer asap, its still brand spanking new!

Can't see anything obstructing it from closing. It just doesn't seem like it responds at all to close.

Might have to garbage bag it to the dealership if this rain keeps up! At least it didn't get stuck in the full open position... that would have been brutal lol

Isn't it two buttons? One is used to open and close in the slide fashion, the other is just tilt. Try using the other button to try and close, and then slide back.

I just had this happened tonight (stuck in the tilt position). Only had the car three weeks. I noticed there's a reset procedure in the manual, but no dice. Were you able to fix this without going to the dealer?

Yup,

They had to adjust the track or something -- took about 45 minutes. All covered under warranty.
