when i parked my car in the garage yest, i heard a noise coming from the back. The car was completly off, but there was a noise from the rear passenger side tire area. It was like something is still spinning or something, and it stopped after about 45 seconds.
Also the engine area had a whining/buzzing noise for about 1-2mins too. Mind you i have HID,
Anyone know what it is? Is it normal?

Search for it and you will find many threads. It is likely your fuel pump returning fuel to the fuel tank. My ballasts don't buzz if they're turned off.

thanks,
And the buzzing thing, is coming from the middle of the engine, read it might be some servo pump or something along those lines..
as long its no problem to be concerned about, im good

Most likely just pressure being blead off in the a/c system....has a hiss-ticking noise to it. No worries...happens all the time when the compressor is hot...sometimes it happens with in a few seconds of shut down, sometimes it takes a min or two

i have that same noise after shut down in the engine, i chalked it up to hot engine components or depressurization and just left it alone haha

It's definately the fuel pump. I noticed that with mine too. If y ou track it down, you will hear it coming from the back of the car and if you go in the back seat, you will hear it under the cushion. Freaked me out the first time too.

If you want to test this, pop your hood and prime your fuel pump without starting the car. With the car but the engine not running, stick your head in the engine bay and you will hear the fuel pump whinning. Turn the car off and run out and stick your head under the hood again. You will hear the fuel pump whine for a short time, then it should click.

actually I bet you here that noise that you think is the fuel pump under your hood after you shut off the car....but its probabyl not.
After the engine is shut off the throttle body goes through a test where the computer opens the throttle body and closes it, near the close position it flutters then closes (making a click noise).
You can even make it do it without starting the car, just cycle the key on and off.
From the sounds of the original complaint on this thread. I am going to still go with the noise of the a/c system going through its pressure release

forsure its somesort of pressure release, as after the whining noise in the engine, it finished with an air realese noise. I thought cool its like a turbo lol
thanks for the help guys

I listened for mine when I got home tonight. It's definately the fuel pump on my car. It sounds like an electric pump and it runs for about a minute. Tracked it down to the tank area of the car. Silence under the hood.
