Hey guys,

yesterday morning I was taking a drive up east to do some fishing in peterborough and I noticed the temp gauge was rapidly increasing. I immediately turned on the heat the temp came back down. My first guess is a stuck thermostat, but just wondering if anyone else had this problem. Im pretty disappointed so far with my 3. First my handbrake cable fails at 12,000 kms, my left front wheel bearing opens up at 34,000 kms, now this. So far everything was done under warranty. Right now im at 39,000kms and completely regret buying this car. Anyways, any help would be appreciated thanks

every car has its problems - it is a machine that will not last forever.

wheel bearing is very common in the 3 - mine went at 80,000kms----
stuck thermostat is not really a big issue----- also maybe clean the fins on your rad

maybe just my luck, it's going in tomorrow again for the day. We'll see what the outcome is.

I had this problem before and they had to replace my thermostat. There is a thread about it somewhere... it happened to me about a year ago.

Yep that was the problem. They called me this morning and told me they replaced it and it's all good now. They said it's a common problem in the 3's. So i asked for a spare :chuckle

A common problem, they got to be kidding, another common problem for us owners,
