Are they compatible with each other? Like can I use 9005 bulbs on 9006 ?

you have to modify the 9005 bulb to fit the 9006 plug. instructions are here (http://www.bmwe34.net/E34main/Upgrade/More_light.htm).

this was a common mod on the old gen3 integras to put out more light in the low beam as the 9005 bulbs are not covered at the end and run at 65W (vs 9006 being capped at the end and running at 55W) .

May be a dumb question but wouldn't the difference of power rating on both affect the bulb life and performance?
