As it says.. I am experiencing squeaks and creaks from somewhere around my centre console.. I can;t pin point where it exactly comes from but its around that area. At times it's loud..
Happens when i turn, or go over bumps etc..
Anyone else go tht esame issue?

Try looking at the driver's seat belt buckle. If you're driving and hearing the squeaks, try holding onto the buckle to see if it stops. My 07 used to do this.
Now if the noise is higher up, it could be the glove box rattle. Try holding onto that too.
Just don't try doing both at once while on the 401. :chuckle
The console it self is pretty sturdy and I've never heard of it squeaking.

Hey Omalak,
The center console in my MS3 squeaks, oddly enough, when it gets warm out and the interior heats up. Anything over 22 degrees outside and it will start squeaking. I say oddly, cause it doesn't squeak at all when it's cold, which is usually when most cars exhibit squeaks and rattles.
So, something in the center console muct be expanding in the heat and rubbing when I drive. It will squeak a little over bumps, but is more pronounced when I corner hard and my leg pushes against the console.
I can easily reproduce the problem by pushing my right leg against the center console while driving or pushing/moving against it in any way. Same thing with a passenger pushing their leg against the console.
My MS3 will be going in for it's 16K service in about a month, so I plan on having it addressed at that time. Usually, I have the music up too loud to hear it anyway.

Hey Omalak. Can you provide a little better description on the squeaks and creaks you are hearing? Like some equivalent sound that we can relate to. This might help us pinpoint the source more easily.
Right now I have what seems to be the infamous glovebox rattle (the sounds is like the metal buttons on jackets hitting each other). I already had my glovebox replaced but it came back a couple weeks later. Now I'm looking to solving this myself.

Its just how it says in the title.. creaking sounds and squeaking.
the creak is best described as like a door with an unoiled hinge. everytime you go over a bump or when i turn..
Although i'm starting to think i may have the same issue as Zoom Zoom Boy.
my car is parked in an underground garage at night, so that doesn't make sense the temp was def under 22 degrees in the garage..
I parked the car at work in a garage. got back in 8 hours later (after reading Zoom Zoom Boys post) I fiddled with the seat belt clip and kind of jabbed the side of the driver side console with my leg and no squeaking :/ weird eh..
I'll keep an eye out to see if it happens again, i'm sure ZZB got it right though it's just the expansion and contraction of the console.. i'll get it checked at my next service if it persists

the only squeak i had from that area was from the seat belt buckle. mazda replaced it for me under warranty.

I have a 2008.5 Mazda 3GT that also creaks around the centre console. I have isolated the creaking to the piano black trim that goes around the clock and radio display. If I push on the trim above or below the display I can get it to creak. It usually creaks when it is hot. Maybe you have the same problem.

Hmmmm, I'll have to try isolating it like that. Thanks. Like I said, i usually just notice it when pressure is applied from my leg to the side of the console and occasionally over rough pavement and bumps. My wife's 05 hatch doesn't creak at all from the center console.
My center console makes squeaks and creaks noises and it drives me nuts..some time next week i am going to take my car in cause they are are tearing out my dash cause of a A/C issue i am having...i am going to have them fix the console too..i can't take the noise it makes...:flaming

I have the same noise from the same area on my 09...quite annoying! Will have it looked at when I bring it in for an oil change in ~2 months.
Any idea what is causing this? Anyone?

I just got back from dealer about this issue and it turns out the console needed some lube..no more squeaks and creaks!

Update. I have the MS3 in for service as I write this. The dealer is refusing to diagnose, or even address, the creaking center console caused by the piano black trim, because I have a gauge pod installed on the top of the dash which is completely unrelated to the actual creaking. Their explanation is that the creaking was caused by the gauge install as the center console needs to removed to install the gauge pod. They wanted $100 an hour to even look at the creaking, let alone address it, so needless to say, I said no thanks and will just have Jimmy at Street Performance deal with it.
In fairness, it is true that the gauge pod install requires the top portion of the center console to be removed, but the car has always had this creak when the weather was warm and in subsequent reading this is a common problem with the piano black trim on the newer generation MZ3/MS3. Of course, the dealer knows this, but won't own up to that. They wouldn't even admit they could hear the noise, as they wanted payment first to acknowledge it and even look at it.
Over 8 years of service with this dealer and they decide to be petty and take a hard line stance over what is a very, very, minor issue. I am very surprised, very disappointed, a little angry and a lot irritated and will be giving some serious thought as to whether I ever go back to them for any future service moving forward.
The dealer is Dave Wood Mazda by the way. A place I have had nothing but kind words and respect for previously and have posted as such on this forum and ToProtege previously. Tis' a shame, really.

Wow thats a bad call on their part.
I live in Richmond Hill and when I first bought my car I had so many problems with the service manager at Mazda of Toronto that I ended up going to Dave Wood for my first few services.
The people at Dave Wood fixed in the first service what MoT failed to address after repeated appointments: hesitation in the transmission, centre console not closing and the A/C cutting in and out. A software update and some fixit work on the centre console solved all the issues. The only one I was left with were the scratches on the car (and those are still there to this day :( )
My point is that sometimes dealerships will do really well, sometimes they'll take a hard line. There's usually no consistency. Just like it is with some police officers, it's really if the person got up and decided to be a dick that day. I say take the car back one more time, talk to a different person and ask politely for them to take a look at the issue. Everyone deserves a second chance. Few people deserve a third.

Hey Fish. Normally I would agree with you. Also, to give some more context, I have had nothing but great experiences with Dave Wood service for about 9 years now and several Mazda's later.
The final say apparently came from the service manager Troy. At least I believe so based on my discussion earlier on my cell. If that is the case, taking it in later won't do much good.
All in all, I think they are seriously lacking some perspective here in taking the hard line stance for a small and easily addressable issue. It is entirely their call in the end and then I will of course, make mine. If they're willing to lose, or risk losing a customer over something like this, it will be a pretty easy decision on my part.

For me personly this would make my decsion NOT to go back...
Good luck
