Clicking sound wen brake is applied

Today I think my car went over a fairly deep puddle... My car wasn't fast, maybe around 60km/h, it was jus a rough ride i didn't hear anything broke and no strange sound. But after a while i found that wen i apply the brake there is a clicking sound in the front left wheels, like there is something hanging and touching the wheels! The sound increases and decrease as the wheel turns. The sound is especially noticeable wen i apply the brake gently, wen i brake the car harder to stop the car it doesn't have sound any more. I went out to check the wheels and the bottom of the car, everything seems to be in place and fine, no damage nothing hanging. Does anyone know what problem it might be? should i go take it to the mechanic?
