Has anyone had any problems or recommendations with agents in the Hamilton area? (Burlington too!) Thanks advise is most welcomed. Also has anyone been given any exceptional deals from the Hamilton dealerships???

thanks

Are you talking about buying a new Mazda? I bought my 08.5 sedan from Select Mazda on Centennial in Hamilton and I dealt with Jim the Sales Manager. I got a pretty sweet deal since I went close to the end of the month and they wanted to meet their sales target was still 7 cars away so they wanted to get cars off the lot.

Their service was top notch, everyone is super helpful and their service department is great. I took my car back there when I had a front end collision and the service manager kept calling me with any significant updates about the repair.

Go there and I'm sure you'll have a good experience. Just remember when you get there to ask to speak to Jim Fletcher- sales manager. He'll hook you up :)

If it is the same Jim Fletcher that used to be at Burlington Mazda... He was horrible to deal with. I wouldn't buy another car off him.

I would go see Oakville Mazda a few of their staff members are board members and I am sure Jason will take care of ya!

I don't know if it's the same guy but I had really had no problems with him.

But yeah the guys at Oakville Mazda are excellent too. Go in there and immediately introduce yourself to Graham Macnab (who has the office right by the sales room entrance door) and tell him you're a TM3 member. He will hook you up being the general manager of the place.

Ya but if i bought from Oakvillie Mazda wouldnt i have to have my car serviced (under warrenty) there? If i am from hamilton i dont really want to make the trek out there when i could stay within the city (hammer). Also, like you mentioned is it better to go at the end of the month to get a better deal(so they can make their target)??? was your 08.5 used? or did you buy it a while ago new?

thx

I bought my car new from Select in July 2008. It's an 08.5 GS which I got $750 off the top taken off, new grad $500 rebate, free rustproof, the 5 yr added protection for $1000 even (normally a bit over $1200).

And what you said about servicing isn't true. I've recently started to work in Mississauga and found it more convenient to take my car to Oakville Mazda for my 16k service. Select did call me to remind me about getting my servicing done but I told them I did it at Oakville by that point and they said that's fine as long as it was serviced at Mazda.

my girlfriend just bought a 2010 from hamilton mazda up on the hill, whatever its called there, but anyways. She got a good price on the car, but it took them over a month to get the car in and they continually lied to her about its location (saying its in Toronto, blah blah blah). When in reality it was probably being built in Japan and being shipped over and they didnt want to scare away a deal.

I'd be happy to help you out with your purchase. I've helped out a few TM3 members already and you don't need to worry about coming out at the end of the month. You can get your car serviced at any Mazda dealer, although we offer discounts to TM3 members and pride ourselves as one of the best dealers in Canada (We're in the top 10).

Email me at j.guttman@oakvillemazda.com with your contact info and I'll call you right back.

Thanks for the help Jason. I am in the market to buy a new or Demo car in the next few months. The two finalists are the mazda 3 and VW golf Tdi. I am just waiting on the msrp and option price points of the VW golf diesel. If they are way over board in $$$ then i will be leaning towards the 3 GS with comfort pkg. So being from hamilton; if i bought a car from you in oakville, could i have it serviced under warrenty in hamilton, or would i have to travel to oakville to have any service done (covered under warrenty)? This Question was kind of answered in this thread, but not too clear. Also if i was to move to another province or eg. Thunderbay, would my warrenty still be covered? and honoured at lets say a Thunderbay Mazda dealership?

thanks

Any mazda dealership would do....i bought mine from erin mills mazda and i usually bring my car to mazda of toronto or scarborough mazda to get it serviced...doesn't matter where ur at, just bring it to any mazda dealerships and they'll honour the warranty work.

Is there a Golf TDI? I thought the Jetta was the only currently available diesel.

JonsMazda is correct. Your manufacturer's warranty (Mazda Canada) is valid at any Mazda dealership. The only warranties you need to be aware of are "third-party" warranties. If you buy a third-party warranty, you need to ask if it is valid at any dealership (most of them are).

I recently bought a 2010 Mazda 3 from Mountain Mazda in Hamilton and felt the whole experience was much better than any other time I have bought a car in the past.
I sent them an email detailing exactly what I wanted and what price I wanted to pay and they worked out the numbers and came up with a very attractive offer. The salesman knocked off over $1500 from the sticker price without any haggling what-so-ever in order to get the price I wanted to pay.
I highly recommend the salesperson we dealt with. The entire experience was totally free of pressure. His name is Paul Piasecki and his email address is paulmtnmazda@hotmail.com .
I am not associated with Mazda in anyway and this is my first Mazda purchase. And may I add, I frigging love this car so far!!

I also talked to Guelph City Mazda who bent over backwards to help me get a good deal. They couldn't (or wouldn't) match Mountain Mazda but I still felt the saleperson there was fantastic too. Her name is Jessia Hamill and her email address is jessica@guelphcitymazda.com

Good luck!

Duke,
Sorry to sound suspicious, but that sounds too good to be true. From the research I've done the markup is barely $1500 on a GS with comfort package. Maybe it's quite a bit more if you say got a GT with Luxury ad Entertainment packages. Or maybe if you paid cash, that would be an extra $750 off. Perhaps they can sell for invoice and make a tidy profit from dealer add-ons like etching and rustproofing?

Anyhow, I'm really jealous. It's entirely possible that you are much better negotiator than me. So can you give us some more detail to put my mind at ease?

Thanks,
Roger

I have purchased from Paul Piasecki at Mountain Mazda as well. He gave me a similar deal on my 2010. I shopped at 3 other dealers in the area and know one could touch the price. Definatley give him a shout if you are thinking of a Mazda. He is not your typical pushy salesman.
