Power Steering Issues

There are a few threads on the board refering to many members that have had power steering problems. the fix from what mazda has said is to replace the pump and the lines...

Except small squiking noise when theres no other sounds, I dont have any trouble with it... apparently Mazda says the noise is not a problem

I just had the ps pump replaced on my 06 mazda 5 because it failed once and man was hard to steer even doing a $1.20 on the Qew. I had to pull over and shut down the car and restart the engine to get it back.

Mazda is well aware of problems w the ps and should replace it no ? asked if you are under warranty.

You may have a power steering pump or line issue. Are you able to come in, so that I can take a look?

Mine does the same from day 1, but happens going forward or in reverse, turning left or right. but not sure you are describing what I hear...take it to your local closest dealer and let them hear it..

yah my car also had a power steering issue, the light came on after a day that i had bought the car last week and it kept going on and off, and when the light came on, the steering became really hard specially in low speeds, but i took it to my mechanic, and he said it might be because the car had been sitting for a while. so since yesturday it has stopped going bad, nock on wood.

sitting for a long time, how long? has nothing I believe to do with your issue.
It will probably happen again but I hope not...
