Hey everyone,
As I was cleaning my interior, some windex sprayed and hit my gauges as I was cleaning the window. I wiped it off and now the finish on the gauges is all messed up. There is a permanant stain that is rainbow all over them. It really sucks. I'm open to any suggestions.

D.

PS I briefly looked around and didn't see any posts like this, but if there is one sorry about the repost.

just a thought but if nothing else works try using the stuff that is used on cloudy headlight plastic covers..

Try wiping down the gauges with a water-only slightly moist cloth. Then dry with a clean dry cloth. Just a thought.

And a very good thought...tried it and didn't work because the finish seems to have been burned/melted off.

Thanks though.

Yikes... windex is THAT corrosive that it burned off parts of it ? I know it's been suggested before, but I would give the plastic polish a try just to see if it will help even a little bit.

windex shouldn't be used for cars... use a good automobile approved alcohol based glass cleaner such as "invisible glass"

the only thing you can do now is replacing the gauge cluster lens which will set you back about 150 bucks from the dealer
