Manual or auto? 2.0 or 2.3L? And, have you had the car since 2004 (I.e., are you the original owner?). Also, what kind of maintenance have you done?
BTW, welcome to TM3!
I think hes a 2.3L as his name states ;)

When you did the Tune-up did you have the throttle-body cleaned?

I was thinking dirty maf or spark plugs. How about a vacuum leak? Resident experts; would this cause rough idle?

Definately and whilst researching a CEL I had; Apparently our vehicles are prone to vacuum leaks.....(Hard to find sometimes as they can be quite small).

I had a similar issue with my previous vehicle. It turned out to be a vacuum leak. The gasket around my throttle body had a hole.

Would this type of problem be noticed when the car is in for throttle body cleaning service ?

Depends on the mechanic I guess.

Depends on the situation. I had a light come on at first. My IACV was bad. That was replaced and I still had issues but no CEL indicating a problem. That's when we found the gasket leak.
