Hey there everyone. I'm hoping I can get a little advice and maybe a point in the right direction as to where to go from here. I have an 09 3 sedan that I bought new this past January. This is my second 3. I traded in an 06 sedan for this one. Never had a problem with the old one. Loved it.
The problem that my car is having is that there is a metal vibration or "whizzing" sound while driving with the rpm's in the 2700-3100 range. Any gear and happens intermitently. There is a slight hesitation that I can feel in the pedal when it happens. It only lasts for a second by it happens every :45sec to 90sec. It is coming from the passenger side and only happens with the ac on. My dealer has replaced the ac compressor as well as the ac clutch but the sound remains. My dealer is now at a loss and waiting to hear from tech support that is on vacation this week. I would be surprised if it is a heat shield because of the hesitation but that is the kinda sound that I am hearing. I have replicated the sound for the master mechanic as well as the shop foreman.
I'm wondering if anyone has had this problem or heard of it. I'm also wondering if someone could recommend a "Mazda Guru" that I could take it to so they could have a look at it. My concern is long term damage because of the hesitation.
Any help would be great.
Thanks
Mario
