I walked into the used car section of Avante mazda the other day, and one of the first things the sales person says to me is that they are a one price dealership, and that they will not negotiate on price. Has anyone else been given this speech? Has anyone bought from them and negotiated successfully? Does anyone have any recommendations on whom to speak with at Avante in regards to used. Any recommendations on whom to speak with in regards to new?

I hope this post is in the right area.

Not sure about the negotiation part, but for used cars their affiliate section says: Adam Vassos (avassos@avante.mazda.ca) our Pre-Owned Manager.

Ah, well I was just curious if anyone here had dealt with other sales people who were willing to do some negotiation and work out a nice deal.

Soon we might see self-serve kiosks instead of salepeople at dealerships...or how about ordering your vehicle online!

They can budge on price for sure (At least for New Cars) go on www.carquotes.ca and ordering the dealer cost page will help you gauge how low a dealership would presumably go to sell a car so you don't look full of sh$t when negotiating

I got my used 3 from Adam.
He's a nice guy, but he wasn't willing to budge much on the price, only a few hundred $$ and to toss in some new floor mats and stuff. I figured that since the car was costing $15K he would be able to move a bit more, but I guess not.

They will also do a thorough inspection for you and fix up the car so that it is in a like-new condition almost. The only thing is that they don't fix anything dealing with paint so make sure the car doesn't have any dents or scratches or anything of the like.

In July-August, I was shopping for a used mazda3

This is what I got off...

Yorkdale Mazda: -$1200 off their listed price of 17990 - right off the bat, phone call...
Burlington Mazda: -$1000 off listed price of 18490 - right off the bat after I saw the car
Downtown Mazda: -$1000 off listed of 17990 (they had pricing error on auto trader so their 'honored' it but didn't budge anymore)

I finally bought my car at a Hyundai Dealership... and i negotiated back and forth for $1000 off listed.. fixed dent, bumper and a cigerette hole in chair.

I never been to Avante... since they claim to be a "clearance" shop but I noticed their prices aren't veryyy cheap. I found Westowne/oakville had good prices on used vechiles. Westown/Oakville is for sure the nicest (on the phone =P).. oakville even called my last week to tell me they have a car for sale that i wanted but I already got one.

Good Luck! Maybe my experience will help you out.

izik - that's good to know, thanks.

k-ex - thanks, I'll check them out. oakville is a bit far, but it may be worth it for a good deal.

Ajax Mazda is pretty good too (depending on what part of town you are from)

They are willing to negotiate to a degree....but once they hit their price point, there is no going any further lol.

There were some interior scratches in the trunk (the plastic peice on the same side as the back lights) They promised that they would have it fixed for me when I picked up the car. (it was in rough shape)

When I picked up my car, it was perfect, inside and out - immaculate detailing throughout, and the trunk was clean. Whether or not they swapped another trunk out for this one? I dont care.

But great service and they are all very friendly.

Thanks for the feedback and the positive comments about Adam and the staff. It is much appreciated.

We price our vehicles the way we do as we try to shoot straight. The cars are thoroughly inspected and reconditioned so they can be the best they can.

Adam will do everything he can to make sure we have the highest quality pre-owned vehicles on our lot.

On a separate note, it was good to meet some of the members at the MOM on the weekend. The cars were outstanding everyone looked like they were having a great time.

I have to agree about Ajax Mazda, they are awesome..
My car was originally had the pdi completed at Avante Mazda (I have the book and everything, weird).. I bought an MCI car, so I'm not worried either way.. From what I hear, both these dealers are great to work with.
