I've been wanting to get LED reflectors, but don't like the smoked/clear look since I have the red taillights. I decided to add my own LEDs to my red rear reflectors.

Decided to choose the Superflux 4 chip LEDs in white from oznium (link: http://www.oznium.com/four-chip-led). They're quite bright and fit nicely in the rear reflectors. I bought 6 of them, 3 for each side.

I also bought an extra set of rear reflectors, so I had time to mess around with them. You will need to dremel small holes to fit the LEDs in.

Then I added a bit of hot glue and stuck the LEDs in with the legs sticking out.

View of the front, can't see the LEDs!

Wiring: I wired all three LEDs in series, but still needed resistors. According to the LED calculator on oznium, I needed a 22 ohm resistor. I made due with a 33 ohm and a 91 ohm resistor in parallel.

After wiring it up:

Installation on car is the same as the smoked/clear reflectors. I tapped the license plate light for power, so they are on when my running lights are on.

That's kickass. What did you use to mod the top rear lights with? Any better photos of it?

You'll notice them lighting. Not sure from a distance though. I have them wired aa running lights so they're only on at nights.

At first I thought this might be overkill, but it looks pretty good. Goes well with the taillights....
