Hey all,
Well after 15+ years driving a 1993 Pontiac Sunbird which I bought brand new it was time to retire her so I went looking for a new vehicle and I leaned towards a Mazda 3.
Since I am in the Hamilton area I look at the local dealers and Burlington.
I found out of the two Hamilton Dealers the one I like best for sales was Mazda Select. The sales guy at Mountain Mazda was a prick and unless I was interested in buying the car on the spot he didn't really look impressed with my questions it's like I was wasting his time but unfortunately they had better prices than Mazda Select.
So now after visiting two Hamilton Mazda dealers I decided to try Burlington Mazda, I first checked out the used section and they had a good selection of cars to choose from, matter of fact I was leaning towards getting a 2006 loaded Mazda 3 it had only 40,000 kms on it but my wife convinced me to just buy new so thats what I stuck with.
Burlington Mazda was cheaper than the two Hamilton Dealers, the sales guy I dealt with PETE was very friendly and was a pleasure to deal with and very helpful. I got what I wanted for a trade for my 93 Sunbird so everything worked out, the sales guy kept in touch with me by email and everything.
I ended up buying a 2010 Mazda 3 GS with comfort package and I am very happy with it. I look forward to getting my 1st service work done there and hopefully I will be able to say the service department is just as good.
If you are planning on buying a vehicle I would recommend visiting Burlington Mazda and ask for Pete Krywiak.
Anyways thats my two cents of Local Hamilton/Burlington Dealers.

I had an excellent experience with the guys at Select buying my Mazda3 . But I'm happy for you that you got a great deal at Burlington- word of wisdom- service it at Select or Mountain as they are TM3 affiliate dealerships.

Yeah TM3= Toronto Mazda 3. Hamilton dealerships Select and Mountain Mazda offer a 17% discount on parts and labour services (other than routine oil changes)
Basically since you joined the site you are entitled to this discount now :). When you go into Select ask for Tony at the Service desk and he will hook you up with the discount!

Don't worry. We were all noobs at one point or another. It's great to have another Hamilton member on the boards. Come out to a meet one day and show your new toy off :)

I have purchased 3 vehicles from Mountain Mazda in Hamilton. Very friendly staff. I dealt with a salesman named Paul Piasecki. He knows the Mazda's inside and out and gave me a far better deal than anyone in the area. Burlington Mazda couldn't come within $500 of the deal Paul gave me. I will never step foot in another Mazda dealer other than Mountain Mazda.

I'm not going to comment on service at Burlington Mazda, but I will leave feedback about my recent purchase experience.
At the end of August 2010 I was shopping around for a deal on a 2010 3 GT, w/o leather, etc. I was prepared settle on the GS, since the moonroof etc were all bonus items; I had a budget number in mind, considering 0% financing, and basically, that's what I was going to pay and I was going to see how much car I could get for the money.
Ricardo at Burlington Mazda met with me at close of business the day I was getting my Protege certified by their Service department. We quickly got down to business; and after a couple of offers going back and forth across the table, I had pretty much what I wanted, a GT, non leather, in black, auto (other people in my fam need to drive my car, and I can't teach them all how to drive stick). A day passed, I mulled the offer over, and after a couple of more written offers went across the table, we had a deal. I'm not going to go in to the details, but suffice it to say, I not only got the car I wanted, I got more car than I wanted, and was still in my bi-weekly payment budget. I was thrilled. Even a last minute colour change on my part (just had to get the Silver; it's just too great a colour to not get) was not an issue.
Compared to at least 6 other dealerships, across the GTA, Burlington Mazda were, by far, the most easy to do business with, with no 'surprises' or 'salesman attitude' or any of that sh!t that makes you cringe at the thought of a Car Dealership. And I didn't have to talk to the GM of the dealership to be treated like a valuable customer. some might say making a deal on the last day of the month makes all the difference, but even my after sales experience has been good (including my very thorough personal vehicle inspection rigour, me with understanding and as a non-issue).
I'm not telling anyone where to buy a car from, but if you want to at least let these guys take a shot at winning your business, they might be worth your while. :)
Oh, and Erin Mills Mazda, sucks it large.

well if they checked tire pressures and topped up other fluids it could be about right, or they might have let the engine drain for a bit longer than other places. I know when I change my own oil I'll let the car drain for about 10-15 minutes depending on how warm the oil was when I started

Your post would be more than 'absolute crap' if you'd actually include some information about why they were the worst dealership you've ever dealt with, and why you're so upset with them.:(
Had and oil change done over the weekend and was pretty pleased with their service. They did take a little over an hour... but the oil change included a 35 point check (lights, tire pressure, fluids, etc.) plus there was shield missing from under my car which they supplied and installed as I was already there.
