Although, I am unsure if this will help. This is better than just sitting around and not doing squat.

Gasoline is a finite resource. If anything the prices will continue to rise until a reliable alternative fuel-substitute can be found. Just be thankful that you do not live in these countries: http://europe.theoildrum.com/node/2653

Yah nothing is gonna bring the prices down... they aren't just pulling these numbers out of their arses.... there's a reason they're so high.

But soon enough hybrids will take over and they'll have nothinggggg mahahhaha :chuckle

Well, hybrids still need fossil fuels... but electric cars! There's the solution! We'll replace dirty fossil fuels with nice, clean electric power from our coal pl--- wait... That doesn't work either...

I know! Hydrogen fuel cells! Yes, we'll all use hydrogen fuel cells, powered by nice, clean hydrogen which we get by splitting water using electricity! Electricity which we get from nice, clean coal pl--- wait...

Let's face it, unless North American accepts that nuclear power is clean and safe, we'll probably be driving 800cc turbo diesels at $5 a liter. That or we'll have to grow hydrocarbon fuels from plants, which will probably cost about the same as digging it out of the ground.

Lol and what's wrong with that? when I was in europe this summer I drove a class 4 i think it's called rally car. under 1000 cc 2wd rally car. this thing had a 1000cc twin turbo diesel matched to a 6 speed manual, and I can tell you that it moved really, really well and was fun to drive it was based on an old mid 90's eurospec corolla. If they actually had good diesel cars here like they had in Europe I'd be the first to buy one. I believe in Europe and asia there are diesel versions of our cars

true, but as an oil producing country, I don't think its reasonable. Also, the gas price jumps up and down too fast. The current gas price is reasonable, but with the economy recovering, it is just going to shoot back up.

The reason why they were not available earlier was due to the lack of "clean" diesel aka crappy quality diesel, in NA. That has since changed but I don't know if those vehicles would meet the NA safety standards.

yeah i know all about that unfortunately, now that we have the low sulpher diesel I was hoping that that would be changing. For the crash standards how much lower are they really than in north america? I just think the real reason is the fact that it'll be a relatively small market for them. In Canada it'd be different, because of our multicultural diversiveness it'd would be a lot better but it'd still be a small market. For now at least.
