Want to try Photoshop, did a search and came up a number of options. What would the best download be, what site? A freebe would work, Adobe Photoshop?
Thanks

Adobe Photoshop would be great. It's not a free tool.

There are free trials on Adobe.com. 30 days or something like that.

Other than that I can't suggest any. ;)

There's only one "Photoshop" out there, it's owned by Adobe but that term gets thrown around loosely.

It's the best photo editing software out there, Coral draw might be a close second but it stinks, and is very outdated.

These programs don't come free, a genuine copy of Adobe Photoshop might run you close to $1500. You can certainly download crack copies at the risk of getting viruses etc (like any other illegally downloaded program), but being a professional in the design industry, I'm not going to encourage that.

Your best bet if you want to try it is download a 30-day trial version directly from their site.

If you're serious about it but want to save, you can always pick up a student copy at any college that offers a graphic design program. It eliminates a lot of useful tools, but it's cheap for someone who will only use it for the basics.

Good luck!

Paint.net - http://www.getpaint.net/

its awesome and free and very light on resources.

for some advance stuff i use photoshop, but simple things i usually resort back to paint.net just because it loads faster.

i tried photoshop a while ago. its very frustrating to a newbie.
i'd download adobe photoshop off of utorrent, or just try to free version of photoshop.
then if you like it, go out and buy the actual version.

Agree with the adobe photoshop torrent for free-ness. I did it during my whole four years of Design school hehe (student budget!)

just be careful where you download it from to make sure you don't get a virus (less likely to happen if you have a mac)

You could also buy Photoshop elements which is good for beginners, cheaper and doesn't have some of the more advance features that the real adobe photoshop cs4 has. But before you buy, download the free trial.

Get GIMPShop. It's a modified version of Gimp that tries to simulate photoshop in terms of the menus and stuff.

Free software kicks ass.
