In seeing that some members on the board wanted affordable lowering springs, and alternative to prokits, teins etc...
My boy helped me in finding the right springs...

The feel is like prokit, but drops lower than prokit. (sport line ish)
Hope this helps supporting our CAnadain manufacturers.

I heard they are good. They're very popular for MZ3 tuners out West in BC area.

Canuck Motorsports have been around for years. If I recall they're basically using spring technology which is the same as ST (springtech) springs. They were pretty big in the 60degree GM clubs.
The are pretty good from what I remember.

My friends both got the cannuck motorsport springs for their eclipses back 3 years ago. They were pretty good.
does anyone have any pics with these springs installed? i would like to see what it looks like on a sedan. i'm debating switching from pro kits for a lower drop.

Quite a few of us from bcmazda3 (>20) have these CMS springs. Here's a pic of mine from awhile back.

The drop is 1.75" all around IIRC

thanks for the pic! yes that's right its 1.75" front and rear. i'm on pro kits right now with a 1.2" drop front and rear, but i wanna go a bit lower. these springs are looking like a good choice.
are those the 17" oem rims in your pic? i'm asking cuz i have 18" wheels, i don't think it will rub but i just wanna make sure beforehand.

^^
those are RX8's 18"
^^
those are RX8's 18"
oops lol missed that.
so 18x8 with a 50 offset..and no rubbing on CM springs? can anyone confirm this
edit:
ok so i found online that rx8 rims are in fact 8" wide with a 50mm offset. and i've checked tm3 and bcmazda (thanks tony) and it seems people have no issues with this wheel and spring combination.
now if the wheels i currently have are 18x7.5" with a 50mm offset, it means that when compared to the rx8 wheels, my wheels will retract 6mm on both sides due to the 0.5" difference in width.
therefore there should be no rubbing.
am i correct with this assumption?

I aint no number expert...
But from what I see with the 50 mm offset and the 7.5 width
you will be totally fine with running a 1.75 drop w/o rubbing

With the RX8 rims and 225/40/18 tires, I only had a wee bit of rubbing at full steering lock on the inner plastic liner. Once you back off a bit on the steering wheel, it's all good. No rubbing anywhere else despite full load.
thanks guys. i had a feeling it should be good but had to hear it from someone else :P
looks like my pro kits will be up for sale soon...

Canuck springs, 18x8 45offset, 215/40/18 Kumho SPT, never rubbed even with a fully loaded trunk and 5 people in the car.

you need min 100 posts to be able to edit.
next time just use the Image button (the yellow one with the mountain) and just paste the link to the image :)

Piru how much are they costing you in total? I'm looking into getting them before winter ends. You said you ordered through nextmod and not that actual website?
Ya I asked peter how much and he said they will be under $200. If I order through their website its about $170 with shipping.
I'm looking to do it before winter starts lol..i know it sounds stupid to go even lower before winter but i my prokits haven't gone through a winter yet, and I would like to keep them that way since I'm gonna be selling them.

Did you place your order yet? maybe I can order the same time as you. But I will be getting these springs either way, doesnt really matter as I am installing them after winter doesnt really matter to me. But to get them now and just out of my way would be easier.
I know what you mean but let me know how they are through winter time as I'll be in the same boat as you next winter.

I can't wait to get them!
did you have yours during the winter? and if so did you have any trouble with the snow?
f12e5h, I haven't ordered them yet. Are you gonna get them thru nextmod or order online?

well I was going to order online but if you can get it from nextmod I might as well do it through them only because its less of a hassle plus I dont live to far from nextmod lol. and if its going to be less than $200 why not I'm down to get it through nextmod.

im happy with my bc coil overs, so pm me if anyone is interested in my set. Only ran for mid summer. (note will need to remove them from the strut first)
its gonna be sold for less than 200.00
Peter told me about the special he's got on the Sportlines right now..so now I'm considering though as well. But I'm worried of the additional 0.5" drop.
lol now i'm back to being confused.
rj, at first I thought you were selling your bc coilovers and sent you a pm so just ignore it lol! but if I decide to go with the canuck springs over the sportlines, I will consider taking yours if the price is right.

same here I've decided to go with sportlines. I am also looking into getting the eibach camber kit to go with my sportlines just incase.
i bought the camber kit from peter in june i think, never got around to installing it. i'll need it for sure if i go any lower though.
what size wheels are you running?
f12e5h
10-24-2009, 04:09 PM
i will be looking into getting either OEM MS3 18" wheels and/or OEM Rx-8 18" wheels with summers obviously.
but yeah i will be purchasing the sportlines with a camber kit to complete everything.
i came to the conclusion i probably won't have any rubbing issues with my setup and sportlines..but speed bumps would definitely be a problem.

yup with those your going to have to drive on angles over them lol
bahh..you know what..i think i'm gonna stick with my prokits...gonna put the money towards a CAI instead. i dont wanna go lower and be worried about speed bumps and stuff. maybe one day i will get coils so i can adjust my own height. :)

I would be interested to know how these springs do as well. I can't decide if the eibachs or these cm springs are the way to go. I would like to get some RX8 wheels eventually so I don't know if its better to go with the prokit... i would also like to get the eibach sway bars
