I recently bought a car from Ontario Mazda and let me tell you guys what a bunch of thieves working in that dealer!!

This was the first car I ever bought and it was a Mazda, they first of all tried to over price the car and every time I tried to talk to the salesman, he would slam his hand in front me on the desk while I was trying to talk. What a super bad service. I then bring a friend with me the day after and the salesperson was like “I don’t know this person so I don’t want to talk to him”. He told me him to leave while us two work out a deal. He then said that someone was giving me the wrong guide dense with all this. (MY DAD!!) Like are you kidding me!!

Even then once we got the bill of sale the details on there was different then what we talked about – it then took another 4 hours till 11PM to sort it out and re-print the bill.

A day after buying the 08.5 Mazda 3 I am hearing this diesel sound coming from the engine bay – I took it back to Ontario Mazda and they service shop said it was normal – but I it’s not normal. Does anyone have any thoughts about this sound?

We finally had the GM come out and sort this out and work out a deal – but WOW!!! – Please everyone be extra careful before you purchase a car from Ontario Mazda in Mississauga. As for now I won’t mention any names as I still have to take this to the next level (Mazda Canada, or OMVIC)

Search ONTARIO MAZDA here.

I bought my car there too. Got a sick deal but the service is totally on a different level.

1. Over tightened oil filter = caused the casing to crack and leak oil
2. Tire rotation = put two bolts on each wheel. I drove to Hamilton then back to Sauga the next day with two bolts.

I left my feedback with Mazda Canada quite a few times

Why would you buy a car from someone that treats you like that? If a sales person slams their hand on the desk while I was talking to them I would get up and walk out.

Yeah I hate to say it but its more your fault for continuing with the purchase when you were obviously being treated with disrespect...

Its worth the drive to North York to deal with Jeff "The Biz" at MoT.

Couldn't find where it says you can return a car within 10 days. On a sidenote, I used to work in car sales, and unless the buyer puts "Subject to ...." on the bill of sale, they have to take the car. Some examples are: Subject to obtaining affordable insurance (set a max limit on the bill of sale), subject to finance approval, subject to the salesperson cutting off his pinky, etc... You can "subject to" anything you want and they'll do it just to get the write up of the deal. Even Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council, the governing body for automobile sales, says that the 10-day cooling off period that normally applies to any other contract such as real estate purchase, gym membership, etc, does not apply to the industry. Why? I do not know. They do, however, encourage buyers to go through them (OMVIC) if they have a problem with a dealer/salesperson and they'll arbitrate.

I don't mean to start anything here, just thought I'd give an inside view on the matter.

I'm not trying to vouch or backup Ontario Mazda here but I have been working there for the past 2 months. The old management team is all gone and replaced with new GM new used and new car sales managers. The GM is really strict about customer service. He already kicked out the sales guys that tries or already scammed customers.

I picked up my new (at the time) 08 Miata PRHT from Ontario Mazda. Only reason why I had to deal with them was because they were the only ones who had the car in the trim level I wanted. I was extremely close to being over km's in my leased 3, so I wanted out fast.
All of Canada didn't have a Stormy Blue Miata in GS trim. They only came in GT trim. And they weren't sure if they were going to produce any in the trim level I wanted. So I had to bite the bullet on a black PRHT in GS trim. Which of course only Ontario Mazda had. I negotiated with the sales guy, and he seemed willing to compromise. Keep in mind this was 2yrs ago so the sales people have changed since then.
All in all, I got a pretty decent deal on the Miata. I couldl've bargained more if the car wasn't so rare to obtain. Everyone knew it was tough to get discounts on those cars. Especially when they had their promotion of 0% financing on that month.
Since then, I've only taken our 6 there for 1 oil change. I have never taken the Miata there. I simply don't trust the level of work there.
I still take all our cars up to Dave Wood. 2 reasons. They have a rewards program which means I get alot of service done for free since I take all our cars up there. And 2, they race. Nothing can prepare people better than having race experience. Their level of work has been very good in all the time I"ve take my cars up there.

The only other place I trusted for work was Avante Mazda. They were a little out of my way when they use to be on Yonge st. before Elgin Mills. They moved further south and from there I decided to go to Dave Wood instead. Dave moved into a brand new facility at the time I started to take my cars up to them.

I wouldn't take my cars for major service to Ontario Mazda. Those guys are way too shifty.

Just for future reference, dealers do dealer trades, they basically buy the car off the other dealership for a)invoice price b)trade for another vehicle, in order to do a deal. Most dealerships have no problem doing that. So if you wanted, you could've gone to say...Gyro Mazda and made a deal for a blue miata in the trim level you wanted, and they would've contacted ontario mazda, say "just finalized a deal and i need your miata" "sure thing, just send me a cheque" and that's it. Just for next time, so you don't have to make a deal with someone you don't trust.

Thats if the dealer that have the car have good relationships with the other dealer you like. At times they don't like doing dealer trades with certain dealerships because of there bad attitudes and slow service. So you have a 50/50 chance if you do that.

Yes, that's why I was stuck between a rock and a hard place.
You know how they say all dealers should register their inventory or something like that? So when they do an inventory search the car will show up? Well, the car didn't show up.
Thankfully I had a friend at a dealership I've known for a long time and he had word the car I wanted was sitting at Ontario Mazda.
So I had to go there in person to negotiate for a car that technically didn't exist. You know what I'm saying? :)

that's true. I remember when I worked for GM, there were certain dealers we traded with and others we didn't because of proximity. Didn't really have that problem when I worked a Dixie Mitsubishi (right next to Ontario Mazda, coincidentally, same owners). When we had a customer who wanted a car we didn't have, the manager would get on the mitsu intranet and see which dealerships had it. Didn't really have a problem of a car being "non-existant" because Mitsu themselves managed that aspect of the network. We could see what dealerships had a certain car, and also what dealer had ORDERED a certain car so we can switch things up in transit rather than have to go get it after it arrives to the original dealer. So much easier to work with than the whole "you're too close and steal my customers so I won't trade with you" BS

I'm sorry to hear you had such a bad time there. I just picked up my car from Ontario Mazda on Friday, and start to finish I had absolutely no issues with them, in fact when trading in my old car they did a car fax and informed me that it had been in 2 accidents, one totaling $11,500 to fix. They were good about it and only knocked off $900 from the trade in, also I felt no pressure when selecting my options (extra warranty, undercoating, etc.).

There are some posts in the forum about the diesel noise. My 2009 Mazda 3 with 15,000 km has a diesel noise too. I hear it when the car idle at a stop light after 5 minutes of driving. I asked Oakville Mazda to check it (when I did my oil change). The service adviser told me he does not have time to do a 5 minute test drive and asked me to drive for 5 minutes and come back to the dealership and show him the diesel noise. I felt that this was absurd and went home. Hope I get the different adviser the next time.

BTW, when I test drove a demo Mazda 3, I heard the diesel noise too. I asked the salesman why there is a noised but didn't get a proper answer. Unfortunately, I forgot about this issue during the buying process.

I am not sure this is normal or not. Check this post. (http://www.torontomazda3.ca/forum/showthread.php?28690-Diesel-Noise-Resolved-!&highlight=diesel)

I dealt with them before, unfo, we couldnt complete a deal cuz my guarantor was out of the country =P
but yeah, i think theyre just too focused on the selling part..but i was given enough time to test drive, select my options, etc.
some of the reps are inexperienced though, with customer service and all, they just know how to sell.

I bought my car from Ontario Mazda... They were alright actually. I delt with the used car manager the whole time it was wierd. As soon as I was looking at the speed 6 after a salesman came up to me the manager came out and literally told the sales man that "he would handle this". We talked down my car about $6,000.00 before we settled on the deal, I did have to hassle though lol. It wasn't easy to budge in the beginning. Only thing was that when I came to pick it up there was a small paint chip they didn't touch up, he told me he would give me touch up paint "next time" and that he would e-mail/call me. He never e-mailed me, he never called. I sent several e-mails, I even called... to find out that he was no longer the manager and left to another dealership, lol. When I spoke with a salesman he just kept telling me not to worry and that he would get me my touch up paint.

If Ontario Mazda is reading this, I'm still waiting on that touch up paint. Until that time my overall review will be negative, lol.
