Engine sounds like a diesel engine

My 2008.5 Mazda 3 Sport sounds like a deisel engine when idle.?? I just bought this car??

did they do a fresh oil change on the car before delivering it to you?

nope, they were not sure how many KM's it had when it was last done but they said it may have 4000KM's left before the next one. I took a look at the oil and it does not look too dark.

Oh and the car had ZERO gas when i got it - i had to stop for gas on the way home :( :(

thats how i got my car too..but i had them do a fresh oil change prior to getting my car.

if the car is low on oil and you hear the valves hitting the cylinder head what sound does it make?

yes, when the car is running for atleast 10 to 15 mins i hear that noise - dealer says its normal

has anyone else had this issue so far? and if so which dealer did you take it to?
