I wouldn't even consider ceramic pads for my Mazda3. It would be an option for a hi end performance car but even a GTR does fine without ceramic pads. Save your money.

Ceramics are not much more expensive then standard.I got the Hawk ceramics for my rear brakes and only paid $10 more then the front HPS pads....Best part is absolutely no brake dust from the ceramics but i would suggest getting standard pads for the fronts.

Edit. My original post confused Hawk HP and HP+ and ceramic pads. Need more coffee.

Never had ceramic for my M3 but I did for my old Intrepid. They squeeled like a pig when hot and sounded like I was running with no pads when cold. Went back to semi metallic. I bought them for the same reason, $10 more for them than the semi metallic pads. So, the next 5 times I did front brakes on the piece of **** I saved $50 overall.

When it comes time to changing my brakes will be going with Msport cross drilled and slotted disc brake rotors and Hawk pads. When using Hawk pads always change the rotors as OEM rotors can't handle the Hawk pads, thats what I was told.. more info here,....

Love my ceramic Hawks. I have the same set up as you.
Very minimal amount of brake dust compared to my EBC Green Stuff and the OEM ones both were horrible for brake dust

if you are interested in Hawk ceramic pad, and new rotors let us know, we have the rotors instock, but Hawk HPS would do great also.
but as for brake dust, then yes go with Hawk Ceramics =)

If your just concerned with longevity and low dust then the Hawk ceramics are a good option. If you want an increase in stopping power then go with Hawk HPS. For rotors I would recommend sticking with a good quality blank or slotted rotors. I do not recommend drilled rotors at all, unless the holes are cast into the rotor they will be prone to cracking and the advantages of a drilled rotor will never be seen under normal driving conditions.
To the poster a few posts up that was told that OEM rotors cant handle Hawk HPS Pads, that is absolutely not true unless Mazda has used really low quality rotors for stock. A quality blank rotor will hold up just as well to pads as a slotted rotor.
We have a bunch of options for rotors and the full line of hawk pads at great pricing.

Of course Mazda uses low quality rotors thats why use a quality rotor with your Hawks..Msport is a quality rotor, check how and where the holes are drilled in their rotors. Check the link in my previous post in this thread

If the stock rotors are crap then definitely get something better, I would be surprised though if the OEM rotors are really that bad. OE Aftermarket blanks are a great choice for most applications. Regardless of how/where they are drilled, if the holes are not cast into the rotor there is a good probability of cracking.
