Anyone driving a 2010 Mazda 3 Sport notice any rattles?
I have noticed that one of the seat belt re tractors that is IN the back seat rattles like crazy (middle passenger seat belt) in addition it sounds like the hatch is also rattling.

Any fixes for this?

I don't notice any rattles on my 2010 Sport but I do notice a wind noise at the back, sounds like its coming from the windows in the trunk, I had it checked at the dealer and we took out a demo car to see and it had that noise too. Guy at the dealer said it might be the shape of the car. Anyone else notice that in their 2010 Sport?

Cold weather is setting in, the road is more rigid and the car will rattle more. So yeah I have some rattles, mainly the hatch cover (nothing major). But yeah I think the wind/road noise is normal.

Winter + Plastic + Ecobox car = rattles. Just gotta live with'em.

Yes, I get that you are going to hear things from time to time depending on the weather but this to me sounds a bit out of the ordinary. Im going to drop it by the dealers this week sometime to have them check it out. Should be pretty easy to refit or insulate.

I feel like removing all the panels in the back and buying proper insulation (sound proof) and re fitting everything back myself. It would prob sound so much better....
BTW... Where do you get the sound proof material from? or some sort of insulation that will prevent creaking/rattles.

Thx!

the wind noise that I hear, kind of sounds like a window is not closed tightly and not like normal wind/road noise, hear it when my car goes above 80km/h, do you notice that in your car?

I have a 2010 hatch as well. Here's how I prevent this from happening.
1. Bring mp3 player into car with music that i really like.
2. Turn it up to a moderate level.
3. No more road/wind noise!

On a more serious note though, I don't notice any noise in my car. Maybe I don't pay attention to these things. The only thing I sometimes notice, is when I go over bumps sometimes, i get creaking/cracking from dash. I've grown accustomed to all these things.

I do, do that, but I would still hear the noise in between songs...I travel on the highway like 4 times a week to and from school for like 2-3hrs each day, this noise is quite annoying, but not as to drive me crazy yet, I don't know if I'll ever get use to it :bang but still with the noise in mind, I still prefer my Mazda3 Sport over any vehicle in its class (at the same price).

My 07 Civic is much worse for outside noise and rattles/creaks from the dash.

Anyways, yesterday, I took my 3 on my first long drive, from Mississauga to Waterloo, and I didn't notice any sounds at all!

Ok, i got fed up with this noise so I had my friend drive my car while I sat in the back. Thinking it would be easy to determine the source of this rattle sound turned out to be next to impossilble. It sounded like the jack was loose (but I removed it) and the nose was still present. Has anyone taken their M3 Sport in for rear rattles? noises? Im going to take it in next week and see if the dealer can find out what it is.

I took it in and left it with them for the day. Came back with no fault found.
I also asked them to replace the pannel in the front near the hazard button as that creaks like there is no tomorrow and they also said...no fault found.
Typical response. Anyone know of a good mazda dealer who has a good trim guy?

I've noticed a bit of a rattle from my 2010 sport, coming from the top right rear section. Pretty sure it's coming from the trunk privacy plastic thingy, which creaks a bit when I go over a pothole.

If I haven't opened the trunk for a short while and rearranged the trunk privacy thing, it'll make noise. If the trunk has been opened recently, everything is great.

Where you located?

I'd recommend DWM, Oakville or Agincourt.
Take the car for a drive with the tech or service advisor and let them hear it while you drive the car. This is the easiest way...

I got so fed up with my car I wrote a letter to the Presidents office Of Mazda Canada. They got back to me within 5 days and set me up in a rental car. My issues have still not been addressed.
1) Rattles in the hatch
2) Tire Vibration
3) Windshield creaking noise...known issue
4) HID Recall
5) Window rattle when lowered (both front driver/passanger)
I will keep you posted!

After a few weeks with the car, I've started to get really annoyed with the rattling in the hatch.

It looks like the rear tail-lights have a little plastic piece that extend into the hatch. If you open the hatch, about 3/4 of the way down there's a little plastic piece a few square inches connected to the tail-lights. This piece looks loose to me... touch it and it rattles and squeaks. Could this be the noise?

I mentioned this to the dealership, it's normal.
Reason I was given; the window needs to be somewhat loose so it can lock into position when closing.

Window rattling is not normal...not unless you are driving in extreme wind and conditions. If the explanation they gave you were true, then that would apply to every Mazda and vehicle ever made. I have never had window rattling in any of my previous or current Mazda's or otherwise, unless the window is misaligned and the mounting/alignment screws have come loose.

There is already a TSB on the 2010's for misalignment of the windows that requires adjustment of the two mounting/alignment screws. It is very possible that these two screws are loose, or the windows are not properly mounted and that this is causing the rattling. Make the dealer look at it and fix it.

The only other plausible explanation is that this is a design flaw of the 2010's, which I believe would be highly unlikely.

as far as I know the 07-10 have this problems, mines an 08 and i have rattles and crackling sometimes, i just turn on the music and forget about it, its not a rolls royce phantom so just live with it unless its a defect

With respect to the rattle potentially coming from the rear lights i know exactly what your talking about however its not the noise... Car is still at the dealer, been a week now. :(

I'm don't think i'm hearing 'rattle' but I do get some creaking noise from the rear passenger area...sounds like material flexing....and it has happened since september (when weather isn't as cold)
