Heated Seats: no heat coming from seat

I have heated seats on my '06 Mazda 3 and for some reason I do not get heat coming from the seat. I get heat coming from the back, but no seat. I had a starter installed in my car back in May and never used the seats since it was warmer out. I am wondering if there might be something wrong with the wiring when the starter was installed or if there just a problem with the seat? I guess just wondering if anyone has had this problem that could shed some light

If it's only from one part of the seat, the the problem is with the seat wiring or the seat warmer itself. Unfortunately neither the shop manual nor the wiring manual are much help... they just talk about the warmer as a single unit.
