Hi All,

Last friday my driver's side Angel Eyes died on my after less than a month. :flaming

I noticed that water leaked out of the ballast (we had lots of rain that day). I removed the ballast and re-installed it with the openings facing down, but it was too late. I've tried contacting Dan who installed them so he can have a look at them, but no luck.

Adam recommended I install the Angel Eyes straight (No Ballast), I've heard there is no issue with this. I am seriously considering this, however the ballast is only a month old, it's weird.

I will try to contact the Seller from the Group Buy to see about getting a replacement first. Wish me luck.

Double check the wiring.. I had mine on and washed the car and it one inner was off for 6 days i though of crap it died but it turned on... Water gets into them they go into lock out mode from moister just keep it dry and move wires to another area & wait & see if not I have extra ballasts if you need it... If it dont work out

Crappy news on the Angel Eyes...I thought the ballasts would be waterproof since they are exposed to the outdoor elements..

Sorry to hear that... I have some suggestions for you:

- Solder the ballast in directly and get rid of the connectors. This transfers more power, partially resolving the cold issues, and reduces one area where water can enter

- Move your ballast from its current location to underneath the hood brace (that long plastic piece that runs across the entire front of the car). You have it close to the "water channel".

- Grab some outdoor silicone sealant and seal the seam of the ballasts and where the wires exit.

I've done the above and have two years on the same ballasts without issue. knock on wood...

Update: Angel Eyes came on faintly this morning, not as bright as the passenger side but it's an improvement. Anyways I am calling the seller today to seek replacement ballast. Thanks for all your advice!

Met up with Sam yesterday. He tested the the ballast, and it sure was dead. He gave me a new one - no questions asked. Really cool guy, and a very stand up guy. Thank you!

Angel Eyes are back!

That's amazing news!! Specially because I was going to buy mine from Sam as well and was curious to how warranty stuff would work.
