I have never been so embarrassed, I honk people on the road and they just either ignore me or laugh.......what was Mazda thinking when they decided to use this terrible sounding horn? it's worse then the Honda Civic...hell the smart car has a regular sounding horn.
Has anyone changed theirs? come summer I want this thing out of my car and replaced with a new style.
Any ideas?

Hella Horn (buy from Supershyguy on here), Fiamm Horn (from Canadian Tire)...
A lot of people on here have changed the horns on their car.

just go to crappy tire buy the oem low tone horn and add it on to the high tone already on the car and you will have a super sounding horn
lol forget the train horns...get a ferry horn and you are sure to piss off absolutely everyone on the road, and probably be blamed for for the 20 car pile up that results.

+1. Dan did the install on mine about a month or so ago, definitely makes the horn tone sound complete overall. No more sissy high tone.
Cheap and worth it.

Yup that's the easiest way. I bought a FIAMM low tone for <$20. I used it the other day to honk at a Lexus GS who was doing 90 in the fast lane. I saw him check his mirror to see who was behind him!

I agree that the stock OEM horn that comes with the 3 is terrible - I never bothered to use it because it was so embarassing - I bought Hella's from Supershyguy and had McGuyver install them - they are great.
To give you an example of how loud the horns are, I recently honked a guy that was cutting in front of me without signaling, he ended up pulling to the side of the road because he thought it was the cops!!!

That video was hilarious! Are those horns even legal in Canada? Have had my 2010 Mazda3 for close to 2 weeks and yet to try the horn!

Because they aren't as loud as the Hella's and still sound very wimpy. An improvement over OEM, but the Hella's are better horns for the money.

5bills where the heck did you get that pricing?
Canadian tire sells the horn for what 50 60$ and then all you need is instal. I have installed a set they are LAF and even have their own mini compressor
