Ok so here is the issue... noticed last week that my passenger side rear brake light blew... no biggie.... just a bulb.... so then I have a small issue on teh C7 cruise.. where the horn stops working.... then I find out late sunday night I have no brake lights.... and a CEL pops up so I hook up the reader and it comes back stating brake switch and torque converter.... now I'm assuming they wired this all together on one lovely little circuit... I read on the mazda3forums that some others have had this same issue... I replace the brake switch (Thanks again Flippy), change the fuse.... under the hood for the horn and I've got my brake lights back (gotta love the safety factor here) still no horn.. and now my compustar is acting up where it won't arm in reserve mode and won't remote start.... curious if anyone has any other ideas and if anyone else has had this lovely issue.... hoping to resolve this myself otherwise looks like I'm paying Jimmy a visit.....

yah see that was part of the problem... wasn't sure if I even had brake lights on the cruise... and never thought to check cuz no one mentioned anything... I've seen some write ups on the mazda3forums.com (how I changed the brake switch) but still haven't seen any diy's on fixing the horn wire... but just a little write up on how he did it... but I dont want to start ripping the dash apart... truthfully I'm getting quite annoyed...

don't blame this all on mazda... it's mostly ford's doing
older mazdas (real ones that ford had no part in) didn't have much electrical problems at all
if it makes you feel any better, nissans have crap electronics/electrics
