my 2007 .. 3 gt ... stereo over the summer would randomly just shut off and then turn back on after like 5 - 10 mins and a few weeks ago....... it just shut off and never came back on...... car has roughly 69,000 clicks
i took it into the dealer on saturday and they disconnected the battery and then reconnected it.. and when he did that... the time stopped showing too... now all i see is the temp outside..... and by the volume knob ... the light doesnt turn on either.....
i was told i have to make an appointment and they'll need my car for the day.... and theres no way i can live without my car for a day due to work ... would they give me a rental or just a shuttle service ?
thanks for the help in advance

I believe you only get a rental if you got the extended warranty.

+1. You'll just have to make due for 1 day or take it in on a day off. :)

Why not just get rid of the stock one.. your car is telling you to get a double din tv in it lol :chuckle

Does the radio work at all or is it just the display? I was just in the dealership the other day (working out ongoing electrical issue) and they told me that the LED display often goes matrix on cars, but its not the radio itself. They replaced mine in about 30 minutes as its a simple plug and play install...if you're radio works I might suggest just getting that part replaced...but dealership will prolly still want to do a diagnostic on the car :P

sorry, after re-reading your post it seems its the radio itself.
do you have the 6-disc changer? I'm currently waiting for a new radio for my 07 speed...its on back order from Japan and expected in 2 months+ :flaming

did anybody decide to check a fuse? There may have been voltage spikes in the radio itself causing the radio to go in to protect mode and shut off and now all of a sudden there was a HUGE spike popped the fuse. But it does sound like the headunit itself.
Unfortunatly i DO NOT have a radio for an 06-09 otherwise i would totally let you try it out to see if thats the issue
