Same reason why I never goto Starbucks.... all that fancy shamancy terminology and in the end I just end up with cup of coffee I am paying $7 bucks for.

I'll stick to Timmys...

Oh man, this wouldn't be funny if it weren't so tragically true.

I'm with the fast-talking squirrel on this one. The whole sizing system at Starbucks is ridiculous. Why do they have to over-complicate things? Is it because Starbucks is overpriced, hoity-toity gourmet coffee that gives people an undeserved sense of self-importance because they overpaid for their coffee?

One day, I received in the mail a flyer from Starbucks. This flyer was a friggin' INSTRUCTION MANUAL on how to properly order coffee.

Yes, AN INSTRUCTION MANUAL.

It looked something like this website:

Me: “Certainly. Would you like the 12 ounce or the 18 ounce?”

Customer: “Oh, bring me the tall.”

(I return with her large beer in a scooner that looks like a mini fishbowl.)

Customer: “Good Lord, this is your 12 ounce?”

Me: “No, ma’am. That’s the 18 ounce. I’m sorry, I must have misheard you. I thought you said the tall beer. Let me go fix that.”

Customer: “I did say tall. Tall is small, you know.”

Me: “I’m sorry, ma’am. We’re not [coffee chain]. In beer language, tall means large.

Customer: “Well, you’re just behind on the times. Everybody knows tall is small!”

this is funny!

i avoid starbucks for different reasons, however i do conceed that a properly ordered drink from them can be quite delicious, overpriced but delicious.
