A distracted owner of a Bugatti Veyron, one of the world's fastest production cars, accidently drove (on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009), the automobile into a saltwater lagoon in La Marque. The driver was uninjured, but the car, which can sell for around $2 million, was partially submerged in three feet of water.
About 3 p.m. a low-flying pelican distracted him as he traveled north on Interstate 45 just south of the hurricane levee near Omega Bay.
The man jerked the wheel, dropped his cell phone, and the car’s front tire left the frontage road and entered a muddy patch, which foiled his attempt to maneuver away from the lagoon.
The Veyron’s powerful engine gurgled like an outboard motor for about 15 minutes before it died.:bowdown

bhahahahahahahhahhahhahaahaha, too bad he didn't hydroplane across the lagoon .. wow sucks but damn.. no wonder we aren't allowed to drive with our phones.
still like how the bmw looks over the Bugatti ... I know I know but for 2mill price tag I'd rather get a bmw if it's slower

i wonder if the engine got hydrolocked.... if not someone better take a trip down to texas - there's gonna be a veyron auctioned off with some 'interior water damage'.
interesting to see what would be the going rate for those, cus even at 90% off the sticker price it'll still be around $200K

Imagine what kind of excuse the driver will spin on his insurance company......

I can't believe he left the engine running. :P First thing I would do is turn it off... and the LAST thing I would do is attempt to start it while it's submerged.

Nice colour combo.
You cant even insure the Veyrone with a standard insurance company. Top Gear said only insurance companies that insure Yachts and private planes will insure one of these
